Someone who, on the surface, appears to be aloof and, in some cases, pretty cold to other people. But he is far from that. Hideki is a logical thinker, putting facts and logic before emotions, and not allowing his emotions to override his better judgement. While he certainly feels anger, rage, love, and the other wide variety of emotions humans have he tries his best to keep them in check for the sake of himself and others. Those that can stick through Hidekis outer shell will find that on the inside he is a person who cares deeply for his fellow man. He is a person who will stick by his friends and try to help them as best he can, should he be able to. Born to a happily married couple of a Pro Hero and a construction worker, he always had a parental figure growing up. He was always a smart kid. Picking up on concepts earlier than others. His mother, Akane, had a quirk that allowed her to absorb sunlight and fire it out as energy beams. His father, Ryu, had a quirk that allowed him to create objects from the lipids in his fat. Though he rarely uses it. Being a Hero wasn't for him. Hideki lived a fairly normal childhood, for the most part. His mother was quick to get Hideki learning how to use his quirk -- She had no expectations of what she wanted him to be. He'd get to choose his own career. But knowing how to use ones quirk was an important skill, and one that could save his life one day, hero or civilian. She wanted to make sure her son would be protected if she wasn't around. But having a Hero in the family rubs off on you, especially if your mother is a Pro. Hideki got his moral compass from his mother, and learned the importance of justice and protecting those he cares about. He wants to do what he can to help as many people as possible, and the versatility of his quirk makes him perfectly suited to the ever-changing lifestyle of a Hero. And so the time came to apply to U.A Academy. The greatest hero course in the world. He passed the written exam with flying colors, and so he was esctatic to try and get into the practical entrance exam. He looked forward, training with all his might so that he would pass! He failed. Not entirely his own fault, mind you. The weather had simply turned against him. An overcast day that eventually succumbed to rainfall. Hidekis quirk ran out of power and he couldn't keep up with the other students after that. He didn't do poorly, he just didn't make the cut with the other students. Well there went that plan. A week had passed, and Hideki was still pretty bummed out about the whole ordeal. He'd been robbed, plain and simple. At least that's how he felt, anyway. But it wasn't long until he got another chance. Another shot at getting into another incredible school. Though this one was more a freak accident than anything else. A villain had attacked a store. A fox-eared hero with ice powers had gone to stop him. A fight ensued. It was pretty even. The fox-haired heroine got knocked onto her feet. The villain raised his arm to strke her with a quirk-empowered blow. He swung... but hit a gold-tinted, hard-light shield. Both of them were stunned. Neither of them had a quirk that could do that. The villain looked to his left, and saw Hideki standing there projecting the energy bubble. He turned, trying to attack the boy. He was quickly subdued by the fox-eared heroine after he was distracted. Hideki didn't expect praise or a reward. A 'Thanks' would have sufficed. Instead he got an earful about how dangerous and stupid what he did was. That he should never do it again, and that he was lucky she didn't haul him off to the polices station to get a ticket written. When she asked why he'd done what he did his reply was simple. "You needed help, even if only for a moment. I had the ability to help. If I didn't, who would?" She asked if he had ever wanted to be a hero. He told her his story about his failure at UA due to the weather. She thought on this for a moment, before getting his contact info. A week later he was scheduled for an entrance exam at Shiketsu High School. This time on a nice sunny day. He passed with flying colors, showing the true extent of his quirk and his abilities. A week after that, he was enrolled, with his first day coming quickly. He couldn't be more excited. the Quirk Solar Quirk Rank • Rank II quirk's tier • Tier II quirk's type • Emitter quirk description • Solar is a quirk that allows Hideki to absorb sunlight into his body through his skin and his hair. This solar energy is stored much like electricity in a battery and can be called upon at any time Hideki wishes, provided he has energy stored. The absorbing of sunlight (specifically UV light) is passive and cannot be disabled, even by quirk disabling abilities, as it's a mutation in his body. When Hideki wishes he can call upon this energy to emit beams of golden light from his body. These beams can form into constructs of Hard Light, taking on physical properties. These can range from simple constructs, such as walls or staffs, to more complex objects like fists and tendrils. Hidekis constructs have physical mass, allowing them to restrain or carry a target of his choosing. Hidekis constructs, due to being made of pure light, are immune to temperature based abilities. They do not shatter or melt from temperature alone. Due to the nature of Hidekis body absorbing light to power himself he is immune to any light based energy attacks directed at him, as they would only fuel his quirk. Hidekis constructs are largely based off of his imagination, allowing him to change their shape and density on the fly to fit the situation. Everything from a miniature sun emitting bright light, to a giant baseball mitt to catch a person are within his grasp. Hideki can wrap a construct around himself for physical protection, though the construct follows the rules of all others. quirk limitation • At present Hideki can perform feats such as flying himself and three other people on a construct, block physical based attacks of up to 400 pounds, and he can hold up to three constructs at a time simultaneously. All of Hidekis constructs are capable of floating and moving as he sees fit, so long as they stay within the required ranges. They are capable of flight, and Hideki can ride one for a form of pseud0-flight if needed. Their maximum speed is 30MPH. quirk weakness • The largest and most problematic drawback to Hidekis quirk is the fact that he cannot generate this energy to power his quirk on his own. Should he ever 'run out of power' he would be essentially quirkless until he found a source of UV light to begin the absorbing process again. These constructs are limited in size, not being much bigger than a large car at their biggest. He cannot form constructs more than 10 meters away from him. If a construct were to leave that range it would dissipate into harmless light particles before vanishing completely. When a construct is overpowered, either by a physical or energy based attack, it shatters violently like glass being broken. This causes the construct to vanish, and Hideki cannot reabsorb energy from shattered constructs. Hidekis constructs also rely on concentration to maintain their physical forms. If Hideki is knocked unconcious or rendered unable to concentrate on his quirk via poisons of some kind as an example his constructs will vanish as well. While Hideki can absorb the reflected sunlight off the moon at night, it is far slower than if he were in direct sunlight in the middle of the day. In direct sunlight Hideki restores roughly 15% of his power per post. In low-level sunlight/moonlight, this is halved to 7% of his power per post. A New Moon will not restore any of Hidekis power, as there is no sunlight reflected during those nights. The power restored from absorbing a light-based energy attack would vary depending on the power of the quirk used. Excersizing the power of his quirk takes energy and mental strain. If Hideki were to push himself too far, even with power remaining, he will be subjected to intense headaches, migranes, and intense mental fatigue, as if he had been awake for over twenty-four hours. Some rest will fix him right up, but these symptoms will interfere with his quirk if pushed too far. Due to the nature of the constructs being made out of Light, they are worthless for stealth, as they will always glow a golden color. Hidekis blue eyes glow when he is using his Quirk. Hidekis quirk does not buff his actual body in any way. If one can find their way passed his constructs he is as vulnerable as any normal human. Hidekis constructs can only adapt as fast as he can think. Hidekis mental strain has a limit. Complex constructs, such as a construct with many moving parts, can stay around for five posts before Hideki needs to dissipate them. A simple construct such as a flat surface could stay around for 15 posts, and a mildly more complex construct with fewer moving parts could stay around for ten. The more constructs Hideki has out at a time, the faster the post counts get used. He's always been able to think on his feet, and as such he has no problem visualing things in his head even if he's in a high tense situation. The only way to counteract this is to learn to not rely on his quirk so much. His mother has been teaching Hideki how to fend for himself ever since he was a child, and as such he's become adept at mixed martial arts.
