Even it's physical gender is called into question on occasion. Despite the confusion caused by the chaotic nature of it's quirk, Inky has maintained several 'personas' and 'looks' that it prefers. These each all possess similar features leading to the assumption that either one of them is it's true appearance or all of them are variations of the original look. Inky's personas possess black hair of varying lengths that is often soft to the touch. It's skin is consistently pale with few variations therein. It usually has dark colored eyes that glow an off-white color in darkness. Otherwise, it changes its body to suit its situation, without moral compunction or any sort of regret. It could even be argued that Inky is not even truly 'alive' in the more traditional sense. The being known as Inky derives a limited sense of identity from the appearance that it takes, usually adapting some manner of stage persona to that new appearance. This can cause it's behaviors to vary dramatically. At it's core, Inky is driven by the single motivating desire to perpetuate it's existence through feeding it's quirk. It does not care about any one or any thing beyond its own person. In fact, it can hardly be considered a sinful creature in it's own right, partaking in acts of deviance and excess are only a waste of energy that it works very hard to collect, as such, it only engages in acts that are a means to an end. A creature of pure unadulerated madness and malice, Inky will often latch onto opportunities when presented even if they don't make sense in the immediate. It is entirely possible that Inky is capable of understanding the various threads of opportunities that lead off of an encounter, or it simply wants to see where things go. For the funzies. the history father • Bernardt Aspland mother • Lizbet Aspland siblings • none important people • none hometown • Downtown Tokyo overall history • Deitr Aspland was born in uptown tokyo to two loving parents. They had found one another at an anti-quirker gathering in Great Britan. After getting married they moved to Japan when Bernardt joined the British Ambassadorial Service. Both of his parents were Quirkless. When Deitr's quirk manifested, he filled his bedroom with malevolence. Both of his parents turned on one another and in a moment of quirk-hating madness, blaming one another for his state, they murdered eachother. Deitr was taken into government protection where he eventually passed into foster homes. His foster families all fell apart one way or another, whether it be by internal violence, physical misconduct, greed, or general excess. His last foster parent, Yuno, attempted to kill him. Deitr returned the favor. His first murder at twelve years old. It was the first time he realized his dependency on acts of evil, it was the first time he realized his body was not truly, fully, real. Any aging he had been experiencing was all in his own head. Nothing was real, Deitr wasn't real, all that mattered was staying alive. A hero captured Deitr, he was sentenced, and when a normal prison could not properly hold him, his body was encapsulated and he was left to rot in what equated to an advanced steel drum. It was in there that his mind finally snapped. During an upgrade to a new storage facility the containment unit was damaged and the creature known as Inky escaped. Since that day, the horrific creature known as Inky has preyed upon Japan, growing in power, hungering for his next meal. the Quirk Malevolence quirk's rank • VIII quirk's tier • I quirk's type • Mutation quirk description • Inky's entire person is made of a black gaseous substance that is propagated in proximity to acts of 'sin' in the biblical sense called Malevolence. quirk limitation • Inky's body is insubstantial, direct physical damage does not affect it. Inky is able to manipulate and shape the gaseous substance it is comprised of - shaping it's body into other humanoid forms. It cannot alter the shape of it's body into objects or other creatures. It can assume a purely gaseous form as a means of escape. It cannot perfectly imitate the appearance of another person. Being a gas it's body is not entirely bound by gravity. Malevolence is not toxic in the traditional sense. When inhaled, imbibed, or introduced to the bloodstream, it has corruptive effects on the body: If a quirk user is exposed to malevolence their quirk is visibly altered in a "dark" or "edgy" way (to the discretion of the player), this 'corrupted' quirk is enhanced and empowered by one rank for sixteen (2/rank) posts, the more dramatic effect is the reduction in stress involved in the use of said quirk. As a side effect, the corrupted character's personality is twisted, a negative part of their personality becoming amplified (to the discretion of the player). If the influenced character does not possess a quirk, their body will be physically enhanced for the sixteen posts. If the character willingly accepts the malevolence into their body, the corruption will last for the remainder of the thread. Inky recovers from injuries by generating malevolence, Inky must be within 10m of an act of sin, excess, violence, or malice to generate more malevolence. He cannot over-generate malevolence. quirk weakness • Inky is not a living thing. It does not eat, it does not sleep, it is incapable of reproducing. It is entirely dependent on generating malevolence and continuously burns its own energy as it exists. Inky can be contained, physically, as a being of gas inside of a canister.
