Sporting a curvaceous figure, Izanami proudly flaunts her wide hips, prominent rear, and considerable bust. Her hourglass appearance betrays a toned and athletic physique beneath. Izanami has a heart shaped face, with plush lips and amethyst colored almond shaped eyes. She sports a long mane of lavender colored hair, typically worn in loose wavy curls. Dragoon Queen's hero costume consists of a revealing suit of classically themed, knightly armor. Obsidian in color, trimmed in gold enameling, and sporting a short black and violet cloak. It is rather revealing for a costume, flaunting a deep valley of cleavage. In spite of its primarily metallic composition, the costume itself is actually incredibly elastic. When Izanami transforms using her Quirk, her armor stretches until it becomes little more than a collar around her neck. Upon returning to normal it resumes its original shape. the personality Likes • Cooking, Chocolate, Nightlife, Jewelry, Sunbathing, Barbecue, Fan Clubs, Opulence Dislikes • Paperwork, Troublemakers, Tardiness, Pervs, Paparazzi, Puns, Losing Strengths • Ambitious, Gregarious, Motherly, Tenacious Weaknesses • Egotistical, Hedonistic, Stubborn, Temperamental Dreams • To be remembered as the Number 1 Pro-Hero, To be a mother someday Fears • The prospect of being remembered as a failure, Being unable to find love Overall Personality • Izanami Ryū’s personality itself has even taken on many draconic features. Like the dragons of legend, she is incredibly vain, proud, and haughty. The woman can be exceedingly self centered and cynical, and is frequently either icy cold with others or driven into a fiery rage when angered. Temperamental to a fault, she tends to struggle with her emotions and finds it easier to bury them rather than risk having another outburst. This often makes her seem stone faced to those around her, a trait she has inherited from his grim father. Despite this, Izanami is an extremely caring individual. She has a strong moral compass, believing in justice and protecting the innocent above all else. Izanami believes strong Quirks are great gifts and their owners meant for a higher calling. As a result she resents those that misuse their Quirks for malevolent purposes, seeing them as stains on society. The woman is very motherly and affectionate to those younger than herself when she wants to be, often forgetting personal space. One known to frequently hug, Izanami often displays a more flirtatious side with men she is interested in or in an attempt to coerce others into giving her things she desires... such as free food. A notable glutton, and a self proclaimed carnivore, Izanami has a voracious appetite that stems from her Quirk. She holds a distinct love for chocolate, red meat, and barbecue. Despite this Izanami is a mediocre cook herself, and would much rather go out dining or be invited to a dinner party than make her own meals. In a similar vein, her public and private personas display a stark contrast cultivated to make her appear diligent and tireless as a public servant. Publicly, Izanami is a workaholic and a perpetual whirlwind of efficiency. In private, the reality is Izanami is actually rather lazy. A big fan of naps, falling asleep watching television, and heated blankets. Izanami detests chores, and will put off housework as long as humanly possible. Though in the end even she can admit it feels better knowing all the chores are taken care of and she can finally rest with clear conscious. the history Father • Yamata Ryū, Fifty-Five, Government Liaison (Retired Pro-Hero) Mother • Kushinadahime Ryū, Fifty-Two, Socialite (Retired Pro-Hero) Siblings • Yashima Ryū & Ōnamuchi Ryū (Younger Brothers) Important People • Tōzoku (Pet, Argentine Tegu) Hometown • Minato City, Tokyo, Japan Overall History • Izanami Ryū was born in Minato Ward, Tokyo at Tokyo General Hospital to her parents, Yamata and Kushinadahime Ryū. At the time her parents were still both active Pro-Heroes, operating under the hero names Dragon King and Snake Princess respectively. Her mother was forced into early retirement by her pregnancy, though her father remained one of Tokyo's most prominent heroes. Izanami was raised chiefly by her mother in her youth, seeing little of her father between his busy schedule of crime fighting, media appearances, and the management of his brand. The eldest of what would become three siblings, Izanami was joined a few short years later by her younger brothers Yashima and Ōnamuchi. Only after having sons did their father Yamata begin to take more than a passing interest in his children. Izanami grew up without want, being raised in the luxury provided for by her parents' celebrity status as Pro-Heroes. The Ryū children were doted on by nannies and servants, dressed in tailored clothing, and played the latest toys and video games. In spite of this, Yamata went to great lengths to ensure his progeny did not grow up to become 'self absorbed, empty headed failures', in his own words. Yamata was a stern father. Austere to a fault, with a black and white view on justice and morality. Only his unwavering dedication to the rule of law kept Dragon King from being judge, jury, and executioner to his criminals. The Ryū patriarch had his children enrolled in expensive private schooling, tutored by well paid specialists, and trained by their own martial arts instructor from a young age. Driven by his own visions of legacy, heritage, and duty, Yamata sought to mold his children into the heroes of tomorrow. He ultimately succeeded. When she came of age, Izanami graduated from private schooling, and took the next step; enrolling in a Hero School program. Naturally Yamata had his daughter enrolled in his own alma mater, the militaristic Shiketsu High on recommendation. Initially taunted as a 'daddy's girl' who only made the cut based on her father's reputation, Izanami quickly proved her peers wrong. With her brutish strength, sharp intellect, and burning rage, the young dragoness soared to the top of her class rankings to the dismay of her peers and the quiet pride of her father. Izanami's younger brothers proved to lack her drive, causing Yamata to divert more of his time and 'affection' to his eldest child. He soon began grooming Izanami to be his personal successor and taking her under his wing as his Sidekick. During her internship with her father, Izanami was spared no such thing as luxury. Treated as his protégé first and Yamata's sidekick second, she endured battles against Villains well above what should have been expected of her. This was in addition to her school work, a brutal training regiment under Yamata, and being frequently pitted against her siblings in familial brawls. Yamata’s tutelage proved exceedingly harsh, but ultimately fruitful. Izanami went on to place very highly in the Provisional Hero License Exams, passing even as a ‘lowly’ first year student. Since then Izanami continued to operate as her father’s premiere Sidekick until her ultimate graduation several years later. Now a fully licensed Hero, Izanami, now sporting the hero name Dragon Queen, an obvious homage to her father, formally took up residence as a full fledged member of Team Ryū. Operating out of Ryū Tower, Yamata’s Hero Office claimed dominion over the greater Tokyo Metropolis, sharing this territory with numerous other Hero Offices and independent Heroes. Izanami spent the next several years serving dutifully underneath Yamata. She pursued further education in her free time, finishing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration through the University of Tokyo’s online program. In the meantime, Izanami was acting as Dragon King’s second-in-command, and being given the greater share of the day to day operation of Ryū Tower as time passed on. She was well aware her father had spent the last decade and a half grooming her to be his successor, though it was still a surprise to her the day Dragon King finally announced it was time to hang up his cape and go into formal retirement. Confident in his daughter’s abilities, Yamata stepped down and relinquished leadership of Team Ryū to Izanami. Though officially Dragon King is fully retired, informally the Ryū patriarch is a workhorse that couldn’t stand retirement once he got a taste of it. Yamata continues to assist his daughter and sons in a strictly administrative capacity, and has taken up a secondary career as a government liaison on behalf of Pro-Heroes. His ties to both Pro-Heroes active and retired, as well as his no nonsense approach to business made him ideal for the position. In the meanwhile things remained business as usual for Ryū Tower. Izanami’s transition into leader was a seamless one, and she quickly took in her younger brothers as her personal Sidekicks. However, the young dragoness had dreams beyond just carrying out her father’s legacy. Izanami longed to create a legacy of her own, beyond flashy news headlines and an impressively long list of cases closed. For Izanami, she wished to train the next great generation of heroes, and to do so in a manner less draconian than her own father’s training with her. To achieve this goal, Izanami has applied to Shiketsu High as a teacher, and with her father’s begrudging blessings accepted a position to teach. She continues her own career in Heroism and the overall leadership of Team Ryū, though her students are her first and foremost priority. Teaching has slightly mellowed out her once fiery temperament, though her students are quick to see some fires never truly burn out when they misbehave. The Dragon Queen reigns over Shiketsu High, and her wings cast a long shadow over the city of Tokyo. the Quirk Quirk's Name • Dragon Quirk's Rank • VIII Quirk's Tier • V Quirk's Type • Transformation Quirk's Height • 12ft / 3.66m Quirk's Length • 60ft / 18.3m Quirk's Wingspan • 160ft / 48.78m Quirk's Weight • 46,000lbs / 20,865kg Quirk's Description • Izanami is able to transform into a large black and purple scaled dragon. This form grants her abilities commonly associated with dragons, including large wings for flight, powerful jaws, sharp claws, great physical strength and durability, armored scales, a long prehensile tail, and of course the ability to breath streams of fire from her mouth. In this state she retains little physical similarities to her human form, aside from her amethyst colored eyes and the violet scales accenting her body mimicking her otherwise lavender colored human hair. In her Dragon form, Izanami has a predominantly black coloration to her scales, with a violet colored underbelly. Her dragon form has six limbs, two forelimbs that function both for locomotion and as arms. Two hind limbs with long dewclaws on their feet, and two large wings protruding from just behind her shoulder blades. Her wingspan is twice that of her total length, with lavender colored membranes stretching between between the elongated metacarpals that give her wings their rigid structure. Izanami sports a long tail, which makes up roughly a third of her total length. Used for both balance and as a weapon, violet colored ridges run along the length of her back and tail, and it is tipped in a whip-like end. Izanami's Dragon form sports an elongated snout, with multiple rows of inward facing razor sharp teeth. A set of large bone horns protrude from her skull, crowning her head and giving her a regal visage. Quirk Limitation • Dragon gives Izanami an order of magnitude more physical strength and resilience, allowing her superhuman feats of might and durability. She can knock down concrete walls with relative ease, and is capable of leveling far stronger materials once sufficiently weakening it with her fire breath. Her razor sharp claws and teeth can easily rend flesh and bone, as well as piercing Kevlar, chain mail, and other mundane forms of protection from sharp blades. The bite force exerted by her jaws is comparable to that of a Tyrannosaur, and her wings allow for flight speeds similar to that of Quetzalcoatlus though her heavier frame makes gliding significantly less efficient. Despite her strength, Izanami is still bound by aerodynamics, and is unable to fly when carrying a load weighing in excess of roughly twelve percent of her total mass. She is however capable of lifting several times her body mass and carrying weight in excess of her mass for brief periods of time. Her dragon form is also faster than her human form, chiefly due to its longer limbs and greater overall size. Over land she is able to run at speeds of 17 mph (27kph) and sprinting for double that for short durations. Alternatively she is capable of walking on her hind limbs, though lacks the balance to move faster than a lumbering gait when walking upright. Dragon's most iconic power is the ability to breath powerful jets of flame. Izanami's flames have an effective maximum range of 65.5ft (20m), though their potency diminishes the further they travel before reaching the target. At their epicenter her flames burn at approximately 1,000°C (1832°F), and are purple in coloration from a combination of strontium and copper compounds in its composition. Aside from a noteworthy color, these additives do not add any distinguishing properties to Dragon's flames. It is worth noting though that Izanami's reserves of combustibles is rather finite, and takes time to replenish. Overuse of her fire breath can leave her with little more than smoke for significant lengths of time. Lastly, Izanami's Dragon form itself is very resilient to fire and high temperatures, as its scales provide both excellent insulation from heat, as well as being an incredibly poor conductor of heat as a whole. Quirk Weakness • Dragon's largest weakness is its own great size. While Izanami is transformed she is roughly as large as a city bus, and thus has extreme difficulty fitting into most interior spaces. Transforming in enclosed spaces such as indoors or underground will cause her to destroy her immediate surroundings as she changes in size. Unless the load bearing capability of the structure she is within exceeds the forces exerted on it as she transforms. This includes places such as reinforced structures, subways, and most industrial facilities. If she is unable to fit within the place she attempts to transform inside of, the compression is painful and forces her to revert back into her human form. Dragon is a destructive Quirk by nature, as both its physical size, strength, weight, and fire breath have great capacity to inflict collateral damage. Izanami must be weary about infrastructure damage such as broken gas lines, fuel tanks, and spilled combustibles when using her fire breath. Additionally, the sheer weight of her Dragon form is sufficient to crack weak pavement, leave deep footprints in soft earth, and will collapse structures not weighted to withstand her standing upon them. This largely keeps Izanami from landing on rooftops not rated for large police and medical helicopters without transforming back into her human form first. While Dragon grants a massive increase to strength and durability, it does nothing to bolster Izanami's overall agility, or heighten her reflexes. Her senses remain as keen as they were prior to her transformation, which when combined with the sheer increase in size and mass makes her significantly more cumbersome when moving about. Dragon has large blind spots at her rear and underbelly, and struggles against nimble opponents able to exploit this. Furthermore, Dragon places great metabolic strain on Izanami's body, and burns calories at a hyper accelerated rate. As a result Izanami consumes significantly more food than the average adult of her height and build, and upon exiting her Dragon form after a prolonged period of time she is often left famished and ravenous. Lastly is Dragon's flame affinity, which while Izanami is able to breath streams of fire from her mouth, she also lacks any form of pyrokinesis to control said flames. The fire she breaths is mundane in its properties, and is no more or less susceptible to manipulation by various fire or combustion based Quirks. Her body's resistance to heat is not without its limits, and while she resilient to most flames, Izanami is still vulnerable to intense sources of prolonged heat such as lava, molten metals, superheated gases, high voltage electrical currents, and plasma. As a reptilian she is also more susceptible to extreme cold, lacking body hair or cold weather insulation. Ice, snow, frost, and other sources of extreme cold are all increasingly debilitating. Similarly, the effectiveness of her fire breath is greatly diminished in driving rain, heavy blizzards, and rendered useless underwater. the Talents Talent's Name • Hand-to-hand Combat Talent's Rank • VI Talent's Tier • IV Talent Description • Far from defenseless outside of her Dragon transformation, Izanami is highly proficient in unarmed combat, with considerable focus on disarming and immobilizing combatants. Despite the name, her preferred style of hand-to-hand places greater emphasis on kicks and footwork over punches and jabs. Talent's Name • Administrative Acumen Talent's Rank • V Talent's Tier • II Talent Description • Despite being a teacher and Pro-Hero, Izanami's degree is actually in Business Administration. As a result, she had considerable flare for the administrative end of her line of work. She is able to expediently breeze through any form of paperwork, be it government, law enforcement, or education related in nature. This does not mean Izanami enjoys this chore, only that she flourishes at it in a way most don't. Talent's Name • Ballet Dancing Talent's Rank • I Talent's Tier • I Talent Description • As a young girl Izanami's mother enrolled her in ballet, hoping it would help make her more ladylike and teach her grace and dexterity. Though she rarely tells anyone, and never demonstrates this in public, Izanami still has the fundamentals down. Although admittedly she has not actively practiced in some fifteen odd years or so. Though late at night, in her bedroom, and after a few glasses of wine she will on occasion enjoy a pirouette or two. the role player Alias • Cassiopeia Age • Twenty-Three Pronouns • Feminine Other Characters • N/A |
