King Dragon the basics Full Name • Yamata Ryū Faction Name • Dragon Hero: King Dragon Nicknames • Blackwing, The Dragon, Old Man Ryū Faction • Hero Rank • V Age • Fifty-Five Blood Type • O+ Birthday • October 7th Gender • Male Sexuality • Heterosexual Affiliation • Team Ryū
the appearance Face Claim • Gunter • Fire Emblem FatesHeight & Weight • 6'2" / 188cm & 200lbs / 90.7kg Identifying Features • Large facial scars, crimson eyes, steel grey hair Overall Appearance • Yamata Ryū is a tall man with a severe expression and a face mired in deep scars. He stands of above average height, broad shouldered and powerful in appearance in spite of his age. The man has a toned, muscular build that shows considerable training. Though it still pales to his more muscular build from the days when he was at the peak of his physique. His hair has long since grayed with age. In spite of this, he retains a full of head of hair and is fond of saying 'better grey than gone.' A number of large scars cross Yamata's face in jagged lines. Old wounds from battles with powerful Villains of the decades of his career. He wears his battle scars with pride, often stating he returned the injury tenfold. King Dragon's hero costume consists of an elaborate, ornately crafted suit of black and grey armor. Originally modeled after the appearance of his Quirk, Dragon, during his younger years the costume bears less resemblance to his current battle scarred form. His armor covers his body up to the neck, where it sports a protective collar. Underneath is worn a black bodysuit of an elastic, insulating material. Draconic symbols and intricate patterns are crafted along the armor. It is a relatively simple costume, much less grandiose than some of the brightly colored bodysuits seen in contemporary Pro-Heroes. Yamata also has an alternative white variation for winter, though even when he was an active duty hero it was rarely worn. the personality Likes • Ambition, Authority, Conviction, Diligence, Family, Justice, Law, Order, Vengeance Dislikes • Cowardice, Defeat, Indolence, Politicians, Sycophants, Vigilantes, Villains Strengths • Ambitious, Calculating, Diligent, Indomitable, Patient, Shrewd, Tenacious Weaknesses • Egotistical, Machiavellian, Proud, Ruthless, Stubborn, Temperamental Dreams • To leave behind a worthy legacy, to see his children become greater heroes Fears • His life efforts being all for naught, the decline of his family's prestige Overall Personality • Yamata Ryū’s personality can be best summarized in a single word; Draconian. Austere to a fault, Yamata demands perfection out of everything around him. He is the quintessential authoritarian patriarch, overseeing his family and his estate the way a king oversees his demesne. Known for his anger, Yamata had a dragon's fiery rage in his heart. Though normally unwaveringly cold to others, distant and uncaring, when pushed to anger his full wrath is a terrible sight to behold. In spite of this he has never struck anyone close to him in his anger.
Yamata is often reclusive, taking retreats to his office or other private quarters to clear his thoughts with a strong drink and relaxing music. His temperament is cause for his high blood pressure, and he laments the woes of getting older. Tireless, dutiful, and driven by a hellish sense of purpose, King Dragon is a tireless worker who barely rests. Even his so called formal retirement was short lived, as he quickly returned to active Hero work. Though now he is the chief administrator of Team Ryū, and a government liaison between the Hero Association and Department of Justice. Though he despises politicians and bureaucrats as spineless pencil pushers, Yamata knows he has the connections and clout to make his voice heard among the squabbling elite of the government.
On the matter of family, Yamata is a complicated man few can empathize with. He loves his wife Kushinadahime with every fiber of his bearing, and even now is known to serenade her on occasion. He sees his children as his life's work, and greatest creations. His legacy in flesh and body, Yamata has done everything in his conceivable power to make his children into stronger, more capable heroes. He wishes them each to carry the torch of the family legacy held high, and refuses to accept anything less than perfection of them. His eldest child, Izanami, felt the brunt of this unwavering conviction in her youth. As the inheritor of his Quirk, Dragon, she was trained in harsh, often unforgivably difficult circumstances. Test to, and pushed beyond her limits, Yamata trained his daughter harder than even his own father has trained him in the hopes his daughter would one day surpass him. For all the grief it has caused between the two, and the rift between them, Yamata was ultimately proven right. the history Father • Watatsumi Ryū, Deceased (Former Pro-Hero) Mother • Kiyohime Ryū, Deceased (Former Pro-Hero) Siblings • Mizuchi Ryū, Fifty, Pro-Hero (Younger Sister) Important People • Kushinadahime Ryū, Fifty-Two, Socialite (Wife) Hometown • Minato City, Tokyo, Japan Overall History • Yamata Ryū was born in Minato Ward, Tokyo, the eldest child of former Pro-Heroes Watatsumi and Kiyohime Ryū. He was joined a few short years later by his younger sister Mizuchi and the two siblings naturally grew very close as they grew up. Yamata, as the elder child, inherited his father's powerful Quirk, Dragon, which has seen hereditary of the Ryū bloodline since the Luminous Child and the mysterious origin of Quirks. His sister manifested her own draconic trait, a mutation that gave her dragon-like wings, horns, and tail, though she lacked the ability to transform as her brother and father could.
As the heir of his father's Quirk, Watatsumi believed from a young age his son should carry on his legacy as a Pro-Hero and began raising his children to continue the family name. The Ryū family was already quite wealthy from prominent careers as Pro-Heroes, and the two siblings grew up in luxury and opulence. They were afforded the best private tutors, attended private schooling, and were raised from a young age to become promising future heroes. Watatsumi was a stern father, harsh and unyielding in his drive to make his progeny the most capable Heroes he could. His wife Kiyohime retired from Hero work to raise her children, and was their primary care giver and parental figure.
What time was spent with their father was primarily spent in some form of training or another. Watatsumi would frequently pit his young children against himself, or each other, tirelessly working to hone their abilities and eliminate fear and hesitation which he believed to be weaknesses. Yamata took much better to his father's harsh lessons, and his abilities quickly grew leaps and bounds beyond his sister's. At this time, his father began to focus more and more on training of his son, pushing him to greater tests of his limits. Yamata took every test in stride, eager to earn his father's admiration and prove himself a capable successor.
When the day came, Yamata applied to Shiketsu High School, his father's alma mater and one of the top Hero Schools in the entire country. Though he could have easily been admitted based on recommendation alone, his father a prominent alumni and frequent source of donations, Yamata wished to test himself against his peers and earn his place on his own merits. He placed in the top percentile on the written portion of the entrance exam, and scored the highest among all applicants on the practice portion of the test. Yamata was quickly accepted into the school and placed into the Heroics program.
An exemplar student with strong work ethics and a great respect for rules and his elders, Yamata was nominated Class Rep for his dutiful and authoritative nature. He clashed with a few of his fellow classmates, who had more lax or even troublesome ideals and work ethics. Young Yamata was an increasingly harsh and fierce man, never holding back against his fellow students. He was defeated during his First Year's Sports Festival, being ganged up on by a large cabal of students tired of his austere demeanor and blunt remarks as to his own ability and that of his peers. His pride wounded, Yamata swore his vengeance, and would go on to easily claim victory in the Sports Festival in his second and third years.
Yamata Sidekicked under several top Pro-Hero Offices of his day and age, seeing how other Pros conducted themselves before ultimately returning to his father's side during his work studies program. The young dragon quickly became his father's right hand man, and second to Watatsumi in ability even over more senior members of Team Ryū. All the while still learning all there was to eventually replace his father when the day would come. Ultimately, Watatsumi suffered a career ending injury, leaving him unable to use his Quirk for long periods of time and forcing him to walk with a cane.
Now a man in his mid twenties, Yamata was more than ready to take up the mantle at the head of Ryū Tower and his father's Hero Office. During this time he came to be infatuated by a fellow Pro-Hero, the lovely Serpent Hero: Snake Princess. Yamata lost his harsh edge around her, serenading the woman with his chivalrous charm and eventually winning over the free spirited Kushinadahime's heart. After a year of dating Snake Princess bequeathed her Hero Office to her recently graduated Sidekick, and opted to become a full time member of Team Ryū.
The young couple's love only grew, and when Yamata finally popped the question and presented a ring Kushinadahime instantly replied yes. They were wed in an extravagant ceremony within the conference center of Ryū Tower, attended by many Pros and former classmates. A short year later their first child, Izanami was born. Quickly followed by her two younger brothers, Yashima & Ōnamuchi. Yamata's wife retired from formal Hero work, taking up substituting positions as a Shiketsu teacher for a while before retiring from heroics entirely. Yamata continued forth, redoubling his own crime fighting while trying to work his new family into his already busy life.
As with his father before him, Yamata was fixated on the idea of legacies, successors, and the heir of his powerful Quirk. He began raising his children just as he had been, harshly training and disciplining them in the hopes they would become powerful heroes of their generation. Though they took well to his teachings, Yamata's children did not possess his iron will or fierceness. As they grew older and their training grew harsher, the rift between father and children grew wider. The Ryū children grew more distant with their father, seeing more a teacher and less a parent. Yamata in turn, unable to connect with his children, became more insular and fixated on his hero work with a single-minded fury.
In time, all three of his children would enroll to Shiketsu High, with the eldest two already graduated and acting as full time Pros. It silently filled Yamata with great pride, seeing them rise to among the top of their class and graduate with stellar grades and numerous offers from other Hero Offices. Though his greatest pride was reserved for his daughter Izanami, who he firmly believed would carry on his legacy as the next leader of Team Ryū. He would go on to take Izanami under his wing as a full fledged Sidekick, grooming her until she had her Profession Hero's License.
At this point, Yamata considered his life's mission largely complete. Now a man in his mid fifties he was scared from hundreds of battles over a three and a half decade career as one of Japan's Top Rated Pro-Heroes. In a relatively quiet changing of the guard, Yamata stepped down and formally made his daughter Izanami the leader of his Hero Offices after announcing his retirement. However, the old drake was restless in his retirement, for the first time in his life having no goal to aspire to. Though still officially retired, Yamata ultimately came to return to an administrative role within Ryū Tower, helping his children with the day to day operation of a large Hero Office.
Yamata also looked to become a government liaison for the Hero Association, a largely thankless task he believed himself more than capable of. King Dragon has both the orating skills, political connections, and bureaucratic discipline to bridge the gap between Heroes and Politicians. However, he is a harsh advocate and frequently butts heads with opposition over even trivial matters, largely unwilling to compromise on his beliefs. Despite his exceedingly harsh nature, Yamata believes in the Hero's purpose being the pursuit of justice above all else. He is utterly unwilling to bend his core principles to the petty whims of politicians chasing only their reelection votes. the Quirk Quirk's Name • DragonQuirk's Rank • VIII Quirk's Tier • V Quirk's Type • Transformation Quirk's Height • 14ft / 4.26m Quirk's Length • 70ft / 21.3m Quirk's Wingspan • 180ft / 54.86m Quirk's Weight • 50,000lbs / 22,680kg Quirk's Description • Yamata, like his father before him, is able to transform into an immense fire breathing dragon like those of mythology. In his dragon form he is massive, larger and heavier than a city bus with a wingspan comparable to a full sized passenger jet. His dragon form has a rather rough and almost volcanic appearance, with jagged black scales and uneven armored plates jutting from its body. Some is natural growths, others are ill healed wounds from battles fought and won decades prior. His dragon form is quadrupedal, with four stout legs ending in clawed toes with large rending talons. In his Dragon form, Yamata's body is entirely covered in its black, armor like, craggy scales. The exception is along his underbelly and neck, where there is red and orange discoloration. His tail is very long, incredibly powerful, thick with bands of muscles and tipped in a spiny club of razor sharp bone. His skull is massive, and very heavy. It forces him to walk in a more hunched stances than his daughter's Dragon form, and his lower jaw possesses a heavy under bite. Within his mouth are rows of large white fangs, inwardly curved in jagged uneven rows. Two large black horns jut from Yamata's skull, and several smaller horns from his jawline forming a beard shaped pattern along his lower jawline. When transformed, Yamata's Hero Costume becomes a series of armored plates attached at various points along his shoulders, arms, and back. He also wears a reinforced plate on his jaw to help protect his head from injuries. Yamata's wings erupt from his back, between the spine and shoulder blades. They are enormous in size, beating the ground with gale force winds to lift his titanic bulk into the skies. The leathery membranes that line his wings is a reddish discoloration, and the wings themselves have a frayed and tattered look to them, lacking their once lustrous appearance. Compared side by side with his daughter Izanami, Yamata's dragon form simply looks senior to hers. His colors are predominantly faded, his body pot marked by scars and old injuries. Despite appearances though, Yamata remains almost as strong as he was in his prime and walks with a sense of unmatched strength and authority. Quirk Limitation • Dragon gives Yamata almost unparalleled physical strength and resilience, allowing her superhuman feats of might and durability befitting of a former Top Ten Pro-Hero. He is able to easily bulldoze his way through most walls and structures, and can topple large buildings with sheer strength alone. His claws and teeth are razor sharp, capable of rending through even thick steel plates with minimal resistance. The bite force exerted by Yamata's jaws is in excess of that of the Megalodon, and his wings allow for flight speeds similar to that of Hatzegopteryx though his great mass makes gliding for more than brief periods unsustainable. Despite his titanic strength, Yamata is still bound by aerodynamics, and is unable to fly when carrying a load weighing in excess of roughly twelve percent of his total mass. He is however capable of lifting several times his own body mass and carrying weight in excess of his mass for brief periods of time. His dragon form is also faster than his normal human self, chiefly due to its longer limbs and greater overall size. Over land Yamata is able to run at speeds of 14mph (23kph) and sprinting for double that for short durations. Alternatively he is capable of walking on his hind limbs, though he lacks the balance to move faster than a lumbering gait when walking upright. Dragon's most iconic power is the ability to breath powerful jets of flame. Yamata's flames have an effective maximum range of 80ft (24m), though their potency diminishes the further they travel before reaching the target. At their epicenter his flames burn at a staggering 1,500°C (2732°F), and are a deep crimson in coloration. Though he has great reserves of inner propellant, Yamata's ability to breath fire is not infinite. Eventually he will exhaust his Quirk's supply and be left with only smoke until he can recuperate. Lastly, Yamata's Dragon form is nearly impervious to fire and high temperatures, as its scales provide both excellent insulation from heat, as well as being an incredibly poor conductor of heat as a whole. Quirk Weakness • Dragon's largest weakness is its own great size. While Yamata is transformed he is large as a semi tractor and trailer, and thus has extreme difficulty fitting into all but the largest interior spaces. Transforming in enclosed spaces such as indoors or underground will cause him to destroy his immediate surroundings as he changes in size. Unless the load bearing capability of the structure Yamata is within exceeds the forces exerted on it as he transforms. This includes places such as heavily reinforced structures, subways, mines, and most military bunkers. If he is unable to fit within the place he attempts to transform inside of, the compression is painful and forces Yamata to revert back into his human form. Dragon is a destructive Quirk by nature, as both its great physical size, strength, weight, and fire breath have incredible capacity to inflict collateral damage. Yamata must be weary about infrastructure damage such as broken gas lines, fuel tanks, and spilled combustibles when using his fire breath. Additionally, the sheer weight of his Dragon form is sufficient to crack pavement, leave deep footprints in soft earth, and will collapse structures not weighted to withstand his standing upon them. This largely makes Yamata incapable of landing on rooftops without transforming back into his human form first. While Dragon grants a massive increase to strength and durability, it does nothing to bolster Yamata's overall agility, or heighten his reflexes. His senses remain as keen as they were prior to his transformation, which when combined with the sheer increase in size and mass makes him significantly more cumbersome when moving about. Dragon has large blind spots at its rear and underbelly, and struggles against nimble opponents able to exploit this. Furthermore, Dragon places great metabolic strain on Yamata's body, and burns calories at a hyper accelerated rate. As a result Yamata consumes significantly more food than the average adult of his height and build, and upon exiting his Dragon form after a prolonged period of time he is often left famished and ravenous. Lastly is Dragon's flame affinity, which while Yamata is able to breath streams of fire from his mouth, he also lacks any form of pyrokinesis to control said flames. The fire he breaths is mundane in its properties, and is no more or less susceptible to manipulation by various fire or combustion based Quirks. His body's resistance to heat is not without its limits, and while he resilient to most sources of heat, Yamata is still vulnerable to intense sources of prolonged heat such as superheated gases, high voltage electrical currents, and plasma. As a reptilian he is also more susceptible to extreme cold, lacking body hair or cold weather insulation. Ice, snow, frost, and other sources of extreme cold are all increasingly debilitating. Similarly, the effectiveness of his fire breath is greatly diminished in driving rain, heavy blizzards, and rendered useless underwater. the Talents Talent's Name • Hand-to-hand Combat Talent Description • Yamata is highly trained in hand to hand combat, and has decades of experience from a long career as a Pro-Hero. In his retirement his raw skill has diminished somewhat, as has the physical abilities of his body in his middle age. However, his vast wealth of experience and powerful stature assures he is still a formidable combatant. Talent's Name • Administrative Acumen Talent Description • Decades of running the day to day operations of Ryū Tower have left Yamata as a very adept administrator. He is a capable taskmaster, priding himself on both efficiency, and diligence. Talent's Name • Financial Acumen Talent Description • Yamata has been managing his family's vast financial estate for many decades, and has a keen mind for financial decision making. He is known for philanthropic pursuits though, and gives greatly to charity for both taxation and moral reasons. Talent's Name • Vast Wealth Talent Description • Yamata is the executor of the Ryū's estate, and has enough divested wealth that all of his family could cease working entirely and still manage to live in excessive luxury for the remainder of their lives. Snake Princess the basics Full Name • Kushinadahime Ryū née Orochi Faction Name • Serpent Hero: Snake Princess Nicknames • Kushina, Madam Ryū, 'MILF' Faction • Hero Rank • IV Age • Fifty-Two Blood Type • O+ Birthday • February 20th Gender • Female Sexuality • Heterosexual Affiliation • Team Ryū
the appearance Face Claim • Karuvuia Kururusevuni • Venus Blood -Hypno-Height & Weight • 5'7" / 170cm & 155lbs / 70.3kg Identifying Features • Maroon horns, two large grey snakes, large bust, absurdly long hair Overall Appearance • Kushinadahime Ryū is a middle aged woman that stands at slightly above average height. She is most characterized by her incredibly prominent hourglass figure. She sports a massive bust, wide childbearing hips, and a narrow waist thin waist. Kushinadahime believes her seemingly ageless beauty is at least partially due to her Quirk, Benzaiten. Snakes naturally possess a characteristic known as indeterminate growth, and she believes the fact they do not visibly age is what gives her such youthful appearance. She has a slender, heart shaped face with thin lips, and violet colored almond shaped eyes. Kushinadahime usually has a coy expression on her face, and her voice is haughty as she speaks with a posh accent in an authoritative, matriarchal tone. Her Quirk, Benzaiten gives Kushinadahime many serpentine traits. She has two large retractable fangs in her mouth, as well as a jaw that can be unhinged. She avoids letting others see either, as she finds them revolting. Most notable is a duo of large serpent tendrils that emerge from the woman's upper back. A dark grey color with the faintest hints of purple, the snake-like appendages have yellow iris with red sclera. They sport a perpetually sinister look about them, even when sleeping. Kushinadahime is unable to retract these snake tendrils fully within her body. However she can extend them to a fuller length. Lastly, the buxom woman has two pairs of pointed horns on her forehead. They sprout forward from the center of her skull, are maroon in color and almost crystalline in composition. This seems to simply be an oddity of her Quirk, as these horns are not part of any known snake biology. Kushinadahime's hair is a deep purple in color, which her daughter Izanami has inherited. More noteworthy is the extreme length the woman's hair. It reaches clear to almost her feet, and she states proudly her hair has never actually been cut. As a woman born into wealth, and coming into extreme wealth after marrying her husband Yamata, Kushinadahime has a flare for the finer things in life. She dresses in an exceedingly ostentatious manner, bedecking her serpents in expensive jewelry and using them as clasps to hold up bright and colorful capes. Her favorite color is purple, the color of royalty in most western cultures. As a result Kushinadahime tends to dress herself in purple and violet dresses, many of a very revealing nature. the personality Likes • Ambition, Beauty, Compliments, Diligence, Family, Heroes, Justice, Karma, Wealth Dislikes • Corruption, Greed, Indolence, Malcontents, Ruffians, Sycophants, Slovenliness Strengths • Authoritative, Cunning, Diligent, Matriarchal, Patient, Shrewd, Tenacious Weaknesses • Avaricious, Egotistical, Extravagant, Haughty, Proud, Temperamental Dreams • Having many grandchildren to dote on, having a child reach #1 Ranked Pro-Hero Fears • Losing her hair as she gets old, having a child maimed or killed in the line of duty Overall Personality • Kushinadahime Ryū is the epitome of an aristocratic matriarch. She is exceedingly proud of both her family and herself, haughty by nature, and incredibly vain. She is an impatient woman who demands the world revolve around her, with the wealth and fame to often make this the case. Despite her appearances she is a very shrewd woman, with a keen intellect and a great dislike of those she considered uneducated dullards. Kushinadahime is quick to anger, though she is a notable Ice Queen, and will silently loathe a person from afar rather than express her contempt in explosive outbursts.
A dutiful mother, Kushinadahime abandoned a promising career as an up and coming Pro-Hero to pursue raising a family. She is stern with her children, but fair, and believes in harsh punishments and quick discipline. She rarely raises her voice, instead expressing herself through kind words said with a telling inflection. She is a notable Queen Bee, surrounding herself in servants and a personal entourage when out in public. Much of her personality melts away in the presence of her husband Yamata. The two dote on each other like a schoolyard crush, and Kushinadahime often surprises her husband with lavish gifts to show her affection.
Kushinadahime has, like most members of the Ryū household, a deep seated desire for order. She is incredibly punctual, scheduling her day's activities well in advance and trying to maximize the usage of her time. She dislikes slackers, underachievers, and lack of ambition. She instilled this belief onto her children and is quite proud of how well they've taken to her parenting. Very philanthropic by nature, Kushinadahime is a bleeding heart, particularly towards those impoverished by war or famine. She runs a large charity known as the Ryū Foundation, with her chief mission being bringing long term sources of clean drinking water to impoverished regions in Africa and Oceania. She is also a firm believer in karma. the history Father • Atsushi Orochi, Deceased (Business Mogul) Mother • Fumiko Orochi, Deceased (Former Model) Siblings • Manda Orochi, Fifty-Eight, CEO (Older Brother) Important People • Yamata Ryū, Fifty-Five, Former Pro-Hero (Husband) Hometown • Aoyama, Tokyo, Japan Overall History • Kushinadahime née Orochi was born in Aoyama, Tokyo, Japan to her parents Atsushi and Fumiko Orochi. The youngest daughter and second child of a the CEO and founder of Orochi Industries, a Support Company that specializes in high tech support items for Pro-Heroes, and his wife a very successful supermodel. Kushinadahime and her elder brother Manda grew up in the absolute pinnacle of wealth and luxury, living in opulence and splendor.
A spoiled child, there was nothing in the world denied to Kushinadahime. Her father, a self made man who built his company from a rented garage to a trans-national corporation, sought to curb this rotten behavior in his daughter. Atsushi instilled in his children as best he could the ideals of being charitable, generous, and how the fortunate have a duty to help the less fortunate. These ideas stuck, and Kushinadahime grew to become a very generous and compassionate young woman.
Inspired by the Pro-Heroes that filled the evening news, and seeing her Quirk as an opportunity to help the people of Tokyo, Kushinadahime begged her parents to let her enroll in a Hero School. Her mother's Quirk: Medusa, simply gave her snakes for hair and snake-like eyes and tongue. Her father's own Quirk was also serpentine in nature. Dubbed Snakeman, it gave him a long snake tail, scales for skin, and snake-like psychology. Though neither of her parent's Quirks were particularly powerful, Kushinadahime's own was a summation of their respective strengths and abilities. After several long discussions her mother finally relented and allowed her daughter to enroll in a Hero School.
Seiai Academy was ultimately the first school to accept Kushinadahime's acceptance letter, more than likely due in part to her father's generous donation towards their new training complex: Battleground Beta. Kushinadahime performed excellently on the written portion of her entrance exams, though only modestly on the practical portion. None the less she was accepted to the all female Seiai Academy. There she quickly became a Queen Bee, a popular and beautiful young teen with a clique of loyal followers. She was only average among Quirk rankings, and continued to rely on stellar grades on her academic courses to improve her standings.
Kushinadahime, taking the hero name Snake Princess, Sidekicked under Snake Hero: Gorgon for several years before she graduated from Seiai Academy. Upon going pro she operated out of a modest Hero Office, taking on a Sidekick of her own. Snake Princess was chiefly a Rescue Hero, lacking the power Quirk to deal with strong Villains, and using her keen senses of smell and thermal vision to aid in rescue efforts. This continued for half a decade, until Kushinadahime met her future husband Yamata.
Following a large earthquake that effected large portions of Tokyo, Snake Princess formally met King Dragon as part of a joint rescue team. The two quickly became enamored, and it did not long after until they formally began dating. A year into their relationship and Kushinadahime decided it was time to end her solo hero act. She ended up bequeathing her Hero Office to one of her graduated Sidekicks, then joining her then-boyfriend Yamata as a full time member of Team Ryū.
The two young Heroes' love only bloomed, until ultimately Yamata proposed to Kushinadahime after several years of dating. She instantly agreed, and two were married in a grandiose ceremony that featured many fellow Pros both active and retired. By the end of the next year their first child was born, young Izanami soon joined by her two younger brothers shortly thereafter. It was at this point Kushinadahime came to accept the fact she had never been any more than a run of the mill Pro-Hero, not destined to top the charts of the Billboard Hero Rankings as her husband was. Snake Princess formally hung up her cape and retired, focusing herself entirely to the raising of her children.
Kushinadahime proved a dutiful mother, caring, kind, and nurturing to her young children. Her kindness and empathy offset the harsh training and ruthless zeal with which her husband pushed his children towards greatness. She remained a moral anchor for the family, keeping her husband Yamata from pushing their children too hard while encouraging them to take their father's lessons at heart. Her free time was largely dedicated to her lucrative merchandising brand, as Kushinadahime's voluptuous figure and regal allure made her extremely popular among male fans. She was heavily used in marketing and promotional advertisements, until her career as a celebrity spokeswoman actually outlasted her career as a Pro-Hero.
As her children grew older and began to leave home for high school, pursuing their own careers as future Heroes, Kushinadahime was forced to accept that someday soon she'd be a mother with an empty nest. She turned to philanthropy as a hobby, taking over the administration of the Ryū Foundation and putting considerable amounts of her family's wealth into multi-national charities. Her other chief hobby is socializing, and the Ryū matriarch is known to host lavish dinner parties and galas. Her gregarious and sociable nature makes her a natural hostess, and she loves the feeling of bringing people together in celebration for no other reason than she can. the Quirk Quirk's Name • Benzaiten Quirk's Rank • V Quirk's Tier • II Quirk's Type • Mutation Quirk's Description • Benzaiten is a fairly standard Mutation type Quirk that grants Kushinadahime Ryū the powers and abilities of a snake, including dense powerful muscles, reduced aging, regenerative biology, and a reduced metabolism. Most notable among these are two large serpent-like appendages that sprout from the back of the woman's shoulder blades. These snakes are roughly as thick around as her thighs and combine physiological aspects from a number of snakes. They have the fangs of a cobra, the bite of a rattlesnake, and the body of a constrictor. Despite appearances both snakes actually have a both halves, crossing internally between her stomach and and lungs, forming an internal X shape collectively. This gives Kushinadahime four tendrils to manipulate, two heads, and two tails, respectively. While the former is most useful for biting, the latter is still useful for constriction. The serpent's heads contain all the sensory organs a snake possesses, sending sensory information on the five senses as well as infrared thermal imaging from their pit organs. This effectively allows Kushinadahime to see in a thermal imaging. The serpents possess a highly venomous bite, if not treated with strong anti-venom it results in muscle contractions, intense pain, thickening of the blood, and ultimately death by asphyxiation as the victim's airways swell shut. Beyond these abilities Benzaiten is a relatively mild Quirk. Kushinadahime also has a set of dark maroon, ridged horns that grow from her head. They do not match the bony crests and ridges of any known snake, and their coloration does not even match that of her serpents. She is able to regenerate injuries, albeit slowly, and her tongue is forked at its tip. Lastly Kushinadahime is able to unhinge her jaw, allowing her to ingest incredibly large objects, though she considers this undignified and unladylike. As a result she rarely displays this ability to anyone. Quirk Limitation • Benzaiten's snake tendrils are neither independent not simple appendages. Instead, they possess vestigial brains capable of taking in and acting on sensory data. However, they are still subservient to Kushinadahime's thoughts and commands. These snakes are connected to her digestive system and can eat and drink freely. Despite only normally protruding a few meters in length from her body, the tendrils can actually extend to a full length equivalent to a large anaconda, totaling out at over five meters in length. Kushinadahime's venom is very strong, but slow acting. Her fangs are only as sharp as hypodermic needles, and thus she has difficulty biting and injecting venom into anything with durable skin, armored plates, or wearing thick protective apparel. Her venom is also very finite, taking large amounts of protein to create more. At any time each of her tendril serpents has enough venom to kill a bull elephant, and she herself has enough to bring down a large buffalo. In human doses, that would be enough to envenom several dozen people with careful rationing between bites. Benzaiten's snake tendrils also abide by normal biology for endothermic reptiles. They also have the crushing strength of an anaconda, the lightning fast bite force of a black mamba, and the powerful fangs of king cobras. Quirk Weakness • Kushinadahime's biggest grievance with her Quirk is the fact her snakes shed their skin like normal serpents do. She molts approximately once a month, during which time she is more irritable, and frequently itchy. For the day or so after shedding her snakes' skins they are tender and sore as their scales must harden and become firm once more. Her snakes are also cold blooded, and unable to properly regulate their body temperature. Because of this they will either drain or absorb considerable heat from the rest of Kushinadahime's body. This can lead to her quickly becoming stricken by heat stroke or becoming lethargic depending on the temperature. She tends to dress for the weather as a result, and wears layers so she can remove them as needed. Lacking in any kind of intensive training regime after decades out of the Pro-Hero scene, Kushinadahime has physical limitations expected of a very in shape middle aged woman. She will sweat and pant from over exerting herself when exhausted or severely overheated by her cold blooded appendages. When heavily exhausted she becomes light headed and may faint. Although normally she will first complain of severe muscle cramps, pain in her lower back or feet. If her serpents were ever severed though, given their size and secondary hearts it could easily lead to Kushinadahime passing out and ultimately dying from severe blood loss. the Talents Talent's Name • Hand-to-Snake Combat Talent Description • Kushinadahime is quite proficient in fighting hand to hand, retaining much of the muscle memory from a decade of Pro-Hero work. He has the same severe look and stern visage that his father has, and his body is in peak physical condition. He sports a sharp jawline, thick eyebrows, and a light complexion. Considered extremely handsome, Yashima has powerful arms and a broad, muscular chest. The most distinguishing features about Yashima are those directly tied to his Quirk. Like all members of the Ryū family, Yashima has a reptilian Quirk. And like his father and sister, his is directly related to the legendary dragons. His Quirk, Amasuhiko, grants Yashima a number of dragonic mutations that easily set him apart from a crowd. Most obvious is a large pair of leathery wings sprouting from his back. A dark coloration between a deep grey and black, Yashima's wings sprout from between the back of his shoulder blades. Almost as noticeable is a large reptilian tail that extends from the base of his spine. long and prehensile, its length covered in armored scales and bony ridges. The nails on his hands and feet are also longer, stronger, and more lcaw like than a normal man's. Yashima, like his sister, whereas a black suit of armor as his Hero Costume, inspired by the armor of his father. His own outfit directly pays homage to the original outfit worn by King Dragon early into his hero career. It is less regal, and more intimidating than the rest of his kin's armors. Adorned with sharp spikes made to look like bone, sporting a large pair of horns on the helmet, and having said helmet shaped into the visage of a dragon's skull. Yashima is of the impression a good Hero should put fear into Villains, and his costume reflects this mentality. the personality Likes • Ambition, Beauty, Compliments, Diligence, Family, Heroes, Justice, Karma, Wealth Dislikes • Corruption, Greed, Injustice, Liars, Maliciousness, Reporters, Rivalries, Villains Strengths • Clever, Chivalrous, Diligent, Gregarious, Patient, Personable, Shrewd, Tenacious Weaknesses • Aloof, Egotistical, Extravagant, Haughty, Proud, Temperamental Dreams • Claim a spot as a Top Ranking Pro-Hero, find fame outside his family's shadow Fears • Being slain in battle, seeing his friends or comrades killed as he's powerless to help Overall Personality • Yashima Ryū is seen by many as the less severe of the two older Ryū siblings. He takes more after his father than his mother, and it shows in his temperament. Yashima is an exceedingly serious man, with an iron will and a strong work ethic. He has an unyielding sense of justice, though even he is not as ruthless in his pursuit of it as his elder sister. Stern but fair, Yashima tries to be rational and open to compromise. He believes in the Devil's Advocate, and that seeing both sides of an argument is the best way to reaffirm his stance is in the right. His anger is also less explosive than his sister of father's, instead being a kind of cold fury that hardens his resolve like steel.
Described by many as 'knightly', Yashima was heavily inspired by the Samurai when growing up. He holds himself a personal code, holding his vows and his honor even higher than the oaths he's taken as a Pro-Hero. His word is considered as good as gold, and he prides himself on never going back on a promise. Because of this, Yashima is a very down to earth realist, never promising others anything he thinks beyond his abilities. Considered a 'lady's man' by the press, in truth Yashima has just taken to heart the ideals of chivalry and gentlemanly conduct. His extremely polite and courteous nature makes an easy Hero to interview, as he always tries to conduct himself in a favorable light on and off camera. Despite rumors to the contrary, Yashima is actually single. Between his sister and his mother, he is silently intimidated by strong willed women, and thinks his life as a Hero too hectic to drag a significant other into.
Personable and easy going, Yashima gets along well with most people. Though often quiet and seemingly aloof, his reserved nature is simply part of who he is. He does open up to those he is close to, and considers his siblings to be his closest friends. Though his relationship with his younger brother has strained in recent years. Not one to bask in the limelight of being a public celebrity, Yashima has never taken to the spotlight of heroism the way his sister Izanami has. This has not stopped him from ranking highly highly on the list of "Heroes You'd Most Want to Marry" poll; unsurprising given his fandom's chief demographic is young, single women and teenager girls. the history Father • Yamata Ryū, Fifty-Five, Government Liaison (Retired Pro-Hero) Mother • Kushinadahime Ryū, Fifty-Two, Socialite (Retired Pro-Hero) Siblings • Izanami Ryū (Older Sister) & Ōnamuchi Ryū (Younger Brother) Important People • Yamata Ryū, Fifty-Five, Former Pro-Hero (Husband) Hometown • Minato City, Tokyo, Japan Overall History • The second of the three Ryū siblings, Yashima was born three years after his older sister Izanami. His parents had wanted both a son, and a daughter, and with Yashima that wish came true. He was followed a few years later by his younger brother Ōnamuchi, and the immediately took to the role of older brother. As children Yashima and Ōnamuchi were nigh inseparable, constantly teaming up against their older sister during their sibling antics. Izanami was always quarreling with her younger brothers, and the two meanwhile were thick as thieves.
When his Quirk first manifested, Yashima's father Yamata was excited by the prospect of a new draconic Quirk. He hoped it might be an evolution of Dragon, one that granted the user strengths of the dragon even outside of their transformation. His disappointment was overwhelming when he came to the revelation that Yashima's Quirk, Amasuhiko, was a mutation and had no kind of more powerful transformation it could obtain. Izanami remained the strongest of the three siblings, and thus received the lion's share of their father's efforts in training as his successor. Yashima outwardly tried not to let it get to him, but internally it only deepened the sibling rivalry between the two.
Yamata would frequently pair his sons against his daughter when it came to training exercises. While Yashima could never hope to match his sister in raw strength and power, he could withstand her flames, and his superior agility and speed allowed him to play to her weaknesses. As a result, Yashima has actually become very proficient as a 'giant slayer' in his adulthood. His training and skillset makes him ideal to "David and Goliath" scenarios, and he considers himself an expert on dealing with gigantofication Quirks.
Yashima, like his siblings, was an exemplar student in his early schooling. Pressured by his parents for good grades, he took well to tutoring and studied diligently. In truth he often outperformed his sister in raw grades, much of that stemming from a desire to surpass her in at least one area. It was without surprise when Yashima scored very high on Shiketsu High's entrance exams, choosing to forgo getting in on recommendation in order to best his competition on his own merits.
While studying at Shiketsu High, Yashima placed highly in both academic scores and Quirk ranking among his class. While not a chart topper in any one area, he was well rounded and had no obvious weaknesses as a student. This versatility allowed him to place second in his first year Sports Festival, claiming the title in his second year. Yashima was also his class representative, a position shared by his father and sister. His diligent nature and authoritative disposition made him a natural fit for the title. Though he strove to not simply be a retread of his sister's tenure at Shiketsu.
Yashima received many Sidekick offers and work study programs while at Shiketsu, his easier going nature compared to his sister and her overall calmer demeanor made him more immediately likable. As his sister before him did, and to the surprise of few, Yashima turned down every offer in order to Sidekick under his father Yamata. Though by his final year at Shiketsu, Yamata had entered into his retirement and officially Yashima become his sister's Sidekick. This period of time opened his eyes to a great many things about Izanami, and the two were able to set aside their sibling rivalry and mend many of their old wounds.
Though they quarreled like rivals in their youth, Yashima has a fantastic relationship with his elder sister Izanami as an adult. He continued serving as her Sidekick after his tenure at Shiketsu High, and considers her among his closest friends and confidants. His relationship with his younger brother Ōnamuchi is more strained, in spite of Yashima's attempts to mend it. Ōnamuchi holds an inferiority complex against his brother, believing his own Quirk to simply be an inferior versions of his older brother's. Though this was largely a non-issue in their childhood, the rift between brothers has widened with age. His own stoic nature makes it hard for Yashima to properly convey his feelings on the matter, so he simply does what he can not to widen the gap further.
In present times Yashima is the second in command of Team Ryū, and the defacto leader in Izanami's stead. While Yamata handles most of the behind the scenes administration, Yashima is more the public face of the Hero Office, as his sister devotes more and more of her time to teaching. He has plans to ask Izanami to transfer Ōnamuchi as his Sidekick when it comes time again for Sidekick offers to be sent out, hoping to mend the rift with his brother in the way his own time as a Sidekick did with his sister. Yashima is a capable and well rounded Pro-Hero, having completed his Pro-Hero License years ago and operating under the hero name Dragon Hero: Dragonknight. His heroics career is as versatile as he is, and he sports an even share in rescue work as he does crime fighting. the Quirk Quirk's Name • Amasuhiko Quirk's Rank • V Quirk's Tier • III Quirk's Type • Mutation Quirk's Description • Amasuhiko is a powerful Mutation Quirk that grants Yashima the powers and abilities of a humanoid dragon. The most immediately noticeable change is a large pair of dark colored dragon's wings sprouting from Yashima's back. They form between the shoulder blades, and give him the strength to fly with ease.
