Character Name: Hakkyou Susiverta
Desired Faction: Heroes
Desired Tier: III
Brief explanation of what your goals are: Hakkyou’s goal is to be a symbol of hope for people whose quirks may bring stigmas from those around them. She is a bit of a bleeding heart, willing to go out of her way to help someone in need. This is mostly due to the sense of justice she learned by those she interacted with during her school years doing similar for her as her own quirk is one many could try to claim is not suited for a hero. Mentoring students with potentially problematic quirks – or even attitudes – certainly falls within this mindset as well, her agency always being on the lookout for students that could benefit from the special mentoring abilities available there.
As a response to this, write a solo (of decent length ((your discretion))) that will show us this start-up in action!
The walls of the room were exceptionally white, clinical, and smelling very much of antiseptic. It contrasted with the woman that stepped through the door – dark costume and thin black tail making her stick out rather stark against the hospital setting. A desk, chair, and a bed were the only furniture, with the addition of a cork board on the wall above the desk. An attempt to make the room less clinical was clear on the board, pictures and cards tacked up to brighten the room. It brought a bit of a smile to her face, seeing those small trinkets posted up.
Her attention was quickly turned to the teenager sitting on the bed. They were dressed in the usual garb for patients, looking completely unsurprised by rather pleased to see the pro hero that entered the room. Hakkyou gave them a grin, glad that they were looking better than when they first came here.
They’d been committed to the hospital for mental health issues after the incident where Hakkyou had met them. The teen had been a rather troubled youth, feeling rather lost and alone in the world. It was something she could relate to. To her, it was a cry for help, even though they clearly were trying to cause enough havoc to get into a potentially lethal fight with a hero. Effectively, it seemed like they were trying for suicide in a way. The hero known as Hellhound – Hakkyou – managed to diffuse the situation, calm the stressed teen. It was then that she got them to agree to get help, getting committed to a hospital for a mental evaluation and therapy. Fortunately, no one had actually been injured in the incident, so it was easy to get the teen off with just being committed and some community service time they could serve once they got out of the hospital.
All in all, it worked out rather well. The incident itself had catapulted her popularity to the point she could go pro just fine, and even start her own hero agency dedicated to helping others in similar situations of need. It was nice, being able to do for others what people had done for her when she came to Japan.
“Hey there, Michi. How’re you feeling today?” The woman’s tail swished behind her as she moved to lean against the desk.
“Hello, Susiverta-san. I’m doing alright.” Nodding along, the teen pulled their legs up and settled into a cross-legged position.
“You’re due to get out of here soon. I’m sure you’re looking forward to that.”
“Yeah, I guess…”
Hakkyou tilted her head, a bit of concern creeping onto her face as she set her hands on the edge of the desk. “You guess? That seems like something you’d be more sure about.”
They looked a bit uncomfortable for a moment, fidgeting slightly before heaving a sigh. “I’m just… worried that things will just go back to how they were before.”
“Michi,” a gentle smile crossed her face as she moved over to plop down next to them on the bed, “I know that can seem like a scary concept. You definitely had a rough time of things that all piled up and led to a lot of things going wrong.” Silence happened for just a moment as Hakkyou set a hand on the teen’s shoulder. “I will still be there for you whenever you need once you’re back out of here. You’ve got my phone number, you know where my agency is at. I promised you when I met you that I would be there for you through this whole process – that includes your continued recovery after getting released from the hospital.”
“I know, and I’m glad, but it’s still worrying.”
“It’s normal to be worried about changes. Even as an adult, changes in life can be scary. But now you’ve got people supporting you, we’re here for you. Family and friends. We all just want to see you happy and healthy, and we’ll stay by your side the whole way.”
“…thanks, Hakkyou-san.” They still looked a little worried, but relieved as well. “So, do you want to play some cards or something?”
She could tell it was mostly a way to change the subject, but that was fine. It was a hard thing to talk about, and sometimes you just needed a distraction to help work through it.
