alistair blaidddrwg the basics full name • Alistair Blaidddrwg faction name • Oberon nicknames • Ali faction • Student year • First class • 1-A rank • Student I age • Fifteen bloodtype • O- birthday • January 1st gender • Male sexuality • Androsexual affiliation • UA hero rival/nemesis • Kato Hatsune vigilante rival/nemesis • N/A villain rival/nemesis • N/A civilian rival/nemesis • N/A the appearance face claim • Merlin • Fate/Grand Order height and weight • 5'7" / 170 cm | 146 lbs / 66 kg identifying features • Back is covered in burn-like scars overall appearance • Lithe and rather effeminate at times, Alistair is easily identified by the utter mess of long white hair he always sports. His already pale skin is peppered with shiny, white scars across his back that resemble burns. A smile in some form is almost always present on his face, giving him a rather lackadaisical and carefree appearance. His eyes give away the mischief frequently hiding behind his smile, lavender orbs revealing a rather calculating and cunning mind. His attire generally is very smart looking, preferring to be well dressed and fashionable. the personality likes • Reading, Tinkering, Confections, Rain dislikes • Spicy food, Snakes, Sleeping, Crowds strengths • Intelligent, Perceptive weaknesses • Secretive, Blunt dreams • To get better than his father with his quirk fears • Ending up entirely alone overall personality • Rather puckish and often downright antagonistic, Alistair just enjoys stirring up trouble. Though calm and hard to anger, he is very well attuned to how to anger others. His heart is seemingly worn on his sleeve, but keen observers will notice he actually keeps his own emotions a fairly well-kept secret from others. While he enjoys being an utter troll to others, he prefers to spend his free time alone with his thoughts, away from prying eyes to sort out his feelings about situations he has recently faced. Often this makes him seem downright cold to others, though he does care a great deal about those few he considers himself close to. He will actually get rather cross with those who are showing signs of self deprecation, though his way of showing it generally doesn't serve to show he cares at all. With little in the way of coherent motivations, Alistair seems to drift through life, taking on each day as a separate entity from the one before. Combined with his usual behavior and somewhat eerie appearance, he has oft heard people describe him as one of the fae. Those are the ones he acts especially puckish toward, intentionally fueling those opinions further. A factor of this behavior is his fear of people getting close to him. Many years spent as the butt of jokes in school have left him preferring to stay emotionally distant from most everyone. Even his family is kept at somewhat of a distance, Alistair feeling as if he is more of an outsider among them since the birth of his half-sister. His penchant for pushing and antagonizing others to the point of being physically hit in retaliation has started a rumor that he is a masochist. While he wouldn't call himself one in so many words, he does rather enjoy the initial sensation of pain from such a blow. Repeated blows or long-lasting pain he has no tolerance for, and quickly becomes overwhelmed, trying to remove himself from the situation swiftly to sort out his thoughts. This tendency does lend itself well to his training as a hero, as he lacks most of a normal person's fear of pain, making him quite willing to act as a shield for others. Outside of his puckish actions and emotionally reserved state, Alistair is rather effeminate in his mannerisms. He can float easily between various groups of people, finding it easy to fit in among girly young women and far rowdier boys. A bit vain of his appearance, with a touch of a hedonistic streak, he does tend to prefer hanging out with groups of girls as it's far easier to gawk at potential eye candy when everyone has a similar gender preference. the history step-father • Atsushi Suzuki, 42, Office worker mother • Alice Suzuki, 36 siblings • Amaya Suzuki, 5 important people • Travis Blaidddrwg, father, 38 hometown • London, England overall history • Actually born in Wales, it was less than a year before his parents moved their small family to London. It became the young lad's hometown as he spent his early childhood under its constant cloud cover, learning to enjoy the rains that frequently fell from those grey masses floating along the wind. From birth it was clear he had his mother's empathic quirk in some form, though far more precise than hers ever could be. His vigilante father was not pleased by this, having hoped his son would have his combat focused quirk so he could direct him to follow in his footsteps. Frustrated by this lack of a protegee, his father started taking his frustration out on the, at the time, four year old boy. Always a quiet child due to his mutation quirk giving him unfiltered exposure to the emotions of those around him, Alistair let this abuse go on for a few years, his back quickly covered in burn-like scars from his father's aura emitting quirk. His father, throughout this, began a downward spiral from vigilante to outright villain in actions; though he still believed his motivations were just. Finally, after four years, Alistair was able to stand up for himself. His mutation quirk finally proved it had aspects of his father's combat focused aura emission, and he ended up blasting his father with his aura after another session of abuse. This proved to be the trigger for all of his father's recent actions coming to light, and his mother quickly divorced him. Wanting to get them as far from the memories as possible, she moved them both to Japan. Alistair quickly showed signs of not actually remembering any of the abuse or what his father had done, a therapist pointing out it likely being a case of willful repression of the traumatic memories. By the time he was ten, his mother had remarried, and the two were expecting a new child as well. Alistair himself had come to terms with the secondhand knowledge of what his father had done, though it all felt as though it happened to someone else despite the scars he carried as proof. He also began to train with his newfound versatility of his quirk, learning how to properly control the innate empathic abilities along with the newfound manipulation of his own aura. School in Japan was a strange concept to him at first, though he grew accustomed to it after a time. He always felt like an outsider among his peers though, and even at home with the presence of his new half-sister. He remained a quiet youth, though found some odd enjoyment out of annoying those around him. It was especially fun to antagonize the classmates that would tease him for his odd quirk and mannerisms. Minor fights became fairly commonplace for him, though they were usually one-sided and stopped at just a punch or two being thrown to shut him up. This ostracization by his peers quickly led to Alistair preferring his own company and that of books and gadgets. He developed a keen eye for details by creating various prototypes for contraptions and nifty items that could be turned into the basis of a future support item. Often he would argue his skill with making and repairing various items exceeded his trained skill with his quirk. The two skills gave him the inspiration to start prototyping a hero costume for himself as well, thinking it would also give him an insight into his quirk's shortcomings. Knowing his quirk could prove useful for both combat and front-line support, Alistair kept up his training through middle school. He wanted to get into U.A., not for any single reason he could ever properly articulate, but maybe, maybe for some reason locked away with the memories of his childhood. the Quirk Centered Self quirk's rank • I quirk's tier • I quirk's type • Mutation quirk description • In short, this quirk causes Alistair's body to produce ample amounts of energy referred to as 'aura', as well as the ability to manipulate his aura and give him an empathic sense toward those around him. This empathic sense is an intrinsically heightened sensitivity to the auras of others, able to read their emotions by how their auras feel. Physical pain also has an effect on how much aura his body produces at a given time. Any damage he is able to do is unaspected elemental damage. quirk limitation • Empath (OOC Permission Required) By how his own aura reacts to the feeling of those near him, Alistair can gain a rather acute sense of their emotional state. By focusing on this aspect of his quirk he can hone in on a single individual, or encompass an entire room. If he closes his eyes and focuses entirely on the effort, he can "see" these auras rather than just feel them, though this is extremely unreliable at his current skill, and does not account for obstacles so he cannot move around much without risking injury by running into something. Manipulation The most varied aspect of his quirk is his ability to manipulate his own aura. He can focus most of it into a specific part of his body, able to deal increased damage to an opponent hit by that area. Even at his strongest, he lacks the ability to give burns like those he endured. Endurance While he has little tolerance for the pain required for this aspect of his quirk, with great and/or repeated pain and injury over the course of a thread the upper limits of how much aura he has increases as a steady rate. Its only application if he is in a pinch is a heightened damage boost to his attacks. With this boost to his damage output, his blasts of aura are able to put a dent in concrete. quirk weakness • Naturally, the biggest drawback to his quirk is the limited amount of aura he has available at a given time. After using a blast of his aura, Alistair needs to wait a full post before he can do another while having enough to focus his aura still. If he forgoes this wait he can manage two blasts, but is left with no aura to use for a solid five posts. Without aura available in this state, he is also left feeling rather winded and tired until he can take the timeto regain his strength and allow his aura to replenish a sufficient amount. During the first post of this time he even has little to no ability to read the auras of others due to how little aura he has. With his endurance state active, it only takes three posts to regain sufficient aura to fight. As with any normal person, the physical injuries required to trigger his endurance state would have a detrimental effect on his performance in battle. His quirk lacks any ability to mitigate his own pain or effects of injuries. the Talents talent's name • Gadgetery talent's rank • II talent's tier • II talent description • Alistair is knowledgeable and skilled with the creation and repair of various common types of contraptions and gadgets, even delving into the basics of circuitry and computers. He is able to combine various engineering components to form a more complex unit, though they lack the ability to change form. He can put these skills to use making simple tools such as spring-loaded grappling hooks or motion trigger systems for cameras. talent's name • Tai Chi talent's rank • II talent's tier • I talent description • Alistair has been practicing with Tai Chi to have a consistent fighting style to compliment his quirk and give him some ability to fight without it. the role player alias • Aeon age • 27 pronouns • any other characters • none |
