Yamato Tachibana the basics full name • Yamato Tachibana faction name • Hoarfrost nicknames • N/A faction • hero rank • Hero III age • twenty-two bloodtype • A+ birthday • July 31 gender • Male, he/him sexuality • heterosexual affiliation • Odyssey Hero Agency hero rival/nemesis • n/a vigilante rival/nemesis • n/a villain rival/nemesis • n/a civilian rival/nemesis • n/a the appearance face claim • Kuroh Yatogami • K Project armor face claim • Hakumen • BlazBlue height and weight • 6’0” (183cm) or 6'6"(198cm) in his armor and 165lbs(75kg) or 300lbs(136kg) in his armor. identifying features • long ponytail, samurai sword, bright white armor. overall appearance • Yamato stands moderately tall with a lithe build. He has long black hair and bright blue eyes with a face that could only be described as ‘young and handsome.’ His outfit is often very unassuming at first, easily blending into crowds unless already noticed which completely undermines any incognito effect it would have. For attire he wears a long black coat with golden trimmings with a white long sleeved shirt underneath and an unkempt blue tie around his neck. Normally his sleeves are rolled up with his collar upturned, but there are a few times where he might correct his attire, like if he was meeting someone especially important. The other form he often takes is that of Hoarfrost, the Blizzard hero. While dressed as Hoarfrost he stands 6’6” tall as the suit itself is exceptionally bulky and is essentially power armor. This outfit is more like a thick exoskeleton and appears to be skin tight clothing around a very muscular individual. Yamato’s appearance is hidden by a smooth, white metallic helmet with exceptionally long white hair flowing from the back. Periodically around the suit are what appear to be ‘red eyes’, seven pairs in total. Two pairs on each greave, one on the front and back of the shoulder plates, and a par on the back of his hands. the personality likes • cold, rainy weather, combat, speeches, ice cream, bravery and intelligence dislikes • heat, meat, trickery, cowardice, abusing one’s gifts, guns, and being compared to his betters. strengths • Sheer bravery and diligence to heroism with a commanding presence. weaknesses • Pretty faces and duplicitous plans that bait action before thought. dreams • To rid this world of villainy once and for all! fears • Being unable to stop a villain right in front of him. overall personality • Yamato is your typical heroic figure, at least, when he wears his armor. Underneath the armor is an altruistic goofball who would give his left shoe to someone in need despite not having a spare at home. Having worked as a hero for a few years now, he is still in his prime and prone to getting into bouts that he was doomed to lose but never holds back in the face of utter doom. The biggest thing about him, however, is his view on fair fights; the very thing that separates himself from his enemies is his own code of honor. He will never strike a villain while they are down, and will not assist a fellow hero if they are winning but instead, to interfere right as they lose to take over the fight from there. This behavior follows him while he is in his armor, and without his armor. Without his armor, he is much less stoic and far more goofy or suave. Without his AI assistant to keep him on track, he will often ‘hit on’ random women nearby that he deems beautiful, going out of his way to prop up their ego higher than his own. Even still, part of him is often theatrical even when doing so as even while in his armor the man is exceptionally dramatic, it’s just while he is without it the man is also exceptionally romantic. the history father • Naruhiko Tachibana, Pro-Hero, Deceased. mother • Asuka Tachibana, Pro-Hero, Deceased siblings • N/A important people • anyone else important, from family to close friends hometown • Tokyo overall history • Yamato was born to a pair of heroes nobody expected, Naruhiko Tachibana and his lover, Asuka Amano. The two only married far later in Yamato's life, waiting until he started hero school before following through with the official wedding, but Yamato never felt left out of the home or even as an anchor for the two's marriage. Overall, his life was that of a normal kid until he proclaimed that he wanted to become a hero. At age 14 he told his mother and father of his plans to attend Shiketsu, instead of UA where his parents were from. Knowing that he wouldn't be able to push his son the direction he went, he subtly tried coercing him to UA through smaller ways, but Naruhiko's own parents had tried refusing him the ability to go to the school he wanted, and he eventually agreed to send the boy to Shiketsu. His wife, however, was hard until the end; she refused to accept the young Yamato was attending Shiketsu until the day he left home to live at the dorms. Normally, this would have caused a rift between the parents but it seemed to bring them closer as they officially married a few months later. His years at Shiketsu were interesting at most. He made many friends and a few enemies, but he always remained focused on his studies and training. Eventually, when it came down to leaving the school to learn how to become a hero on the field, he was assigned as his father's own sidekick. This was where he learned his own style of combat involving blades and other sword-like objects. His work with his father was nothing much to be claimed impressive, but when he returned to school to graduate the worst happened. The night of his graduation the villains made the first move, attacking his mother and father as they were preparing homecoming for Yamato himself. Nobody knew of the incident until Yamato returned home that day, curious as to why his parents weren't at his graduation. It was a gruesome scene; on the outside, the home was completely unscathed but inside half of the building was scorched or destroyed. It was a miracle that nobody had heard the commotion inside, but he found his father in an almost sickening position. Sitting in his normal chair, was Naruhiko, impaled by his own arrangement of weaponry, looking extremely tattered. In his hand, however, was an image of a happy family with a newborn child; the photo of his birth. In grief, Yamato called the police to inform them of the murders, and then alerted the hero society to what had transpired. The body of his mother was never found but they had found her blood too strewn across the home. Being marked down as deceased, Yamato was left alone in this world on his first days of becoming a fully-fledged hero. The view of the home began to sicken him, and after a few months, he joined a hero agency overseas in America as a way to escape home. Now overseas he became known as the Blizzard Hero, Hoarfrost. His name and appearance rarely made it back to Japan, at least, until his hero agency bequeathed him a unique set of armor, tailored to his specifications. Four years after he joined Odyssey, he was given his Hoarfrost armor and informed that he would be sent back to Japan. His first job was to establish a new sector of Odyssey as an attempt to spread their reach, and the second was to find the villains who took the lives of his parents. In reality, he was far from thrilled to be sent to Japan, but the promise of closure was all he needed to agree. Now donning the Hoarfrost armor, he has returned to Japan after a long time of work overseas, wearing his persona of Hoarfrost whenever he is doing official work as his armor is not his appearance. the Quirk Cryogenesis quirk's rank • VI quirk's tier • III quirk's type • Emitter quirk description • Cryogenesis allows the user to turn their sweat into a liquid nitrogen like substance, creating a thick white fog-like that freezes objects that become enveloped by it. When active, the liquid affected by the quirk immediately begins to billow off of his skin as a thick mist, just as liquid nitrogen does as it cools down. This mist immediately falls toward the ground and begins to spread out across a wide area, freezing most objects it comes across as if the object was coated with liquid nitrogen itself. During this time, Yamato can focus on the area, causing the mist to freeze the air around it, encasing objects in ice or causing ice to grow rapidly from that location. quirk limitation • Yamato's cryogenic mist spreads out from his body at a rate of 3 feet (1 meter) per post and lingers afterward for up to 5 full posts. If standing stationary for several posts at a time, the mist will only ever spread out at a full 9 feet from his body (3 meters), maxing out at 3 posts of standing still. The mist itself sits ambiently at a chilling temperature of -40 degrees celsius. As Yamato performs a strenuous activity, he gains uses of his quirk. In each post he performs a single strenuous activity, he gains one use of his quirk. If he performs a complex strenuous activity, like sprinting while jumping, or evading a blow, he instead gets two uses of his quirk. Even without strenuous activity, however, he can still use his quirk, but only in its default passive state and up to three posts. If he is too close to a fire or other heat source that causes his body to naturally perspire, he instead increases the number of uses of his quirk by one per post. This means he gets 3 uses from complex strenuous activity as an example. Yamato can only store up to three uses of his quirk on his own skin. quirk weakness • During a rainy day, the mist itself will always freeze the water falling through it, creating exceptional ice sheets and preventing him from extending his quirk past physical contact. If there is no water in the air or the object being frozen, it merely becomes exceptionally cold rather than encasing the object in ice. Fire and other sources of heat will push his quirk away as the heated air prevents the cooled air from mingling. Since his quirk manifests from his sweat directly, over-use of the quirk results in excessive dehydration along-side any other normal amounts of muscle fatigue that a human would experience if he used physical exercise to gain more uses of his quirk. Supermove: Ice Citadel • Yamato expels all stored up sweat from his quirk at once, before shortly freezing everything far lower than he can bring his quirk normally; down to a staggering -100 degrees celsius. This instantly encases him in a massive block of ice that spreads out across the ground where his mist was located. While in this state, his metabolism slows down to a crawl. While in this state, the ice rapidly expands at the same rate that his mist grows across the ground, but instead it freezes around objects immediately. He can keep this active for a total of four full posts, counting the activation post as post 1. On the fourth post, the ice around Yamato shatters, releasing him from his own prison but all other objects frozen in the ice remain until melted through other means, which could take hours. The price for using this move is steep, however, as he loses the ability to activate his quirk until several hours pass (Once per thread.). To gain access to this move, Yamato must have 5 uses of his quirk stored. Supermove: Winter's Bite • Yamato swings his arm in an arc forward while super chilling this liquid as it flies through the air. This delays his quirk's mist for three feet, but extends how far it travels up to 9 feet in a single direction. This mist is automatically activated as it flies forward, condensing as a thin layer of ice over everything it touches. This move requires 2 uses of his quirk. the Talents talent's name • Hoarfrost Armor talent's rank • V talent's tier • I talent description • Hoarfrost Armor is the suit of armor that Yamato wears for his hero suit. It is environmentally sealed, and forged with dna from his own bone marrow and hair, which gives the armor it's bone-white and pitch-black appearance. The armor itself is much taller than Yamato is, standing 6'6" tall. To enter the suit, the back area opens up wide, allowing him to step in as it then fits around his body, using an advanced ai to assist with making it perfectly fit for him, making the armor feel as if it were just another pair of clothes. Atop the head of the armor is a long ponytail made from synthesized strands of his own hair; it is extremely durable to being frozen and is really just there for show. As for the features of the armor, there are many. The mask itself is a thermal visor, allowing him to detect thermal signatures through up to an inch of solid material, or up to 18 feet (6 meters) if the area is lightly obscured. The major downside of this visor is if everything is the same temperature, then it is completely useless when active, and it prevents Yamato from seeing physical traits of the object with the innate heat vision, limiting him to just outlines and color. To activate the visor, he has to say the phrase "Vision on," or simply order his armor vocally to activate thermal vision. When wearing the helmet, his voice is distorted slightly to help him disassociate with his own persona, making it easier for him to act heroically. The AI in his suit of armor is exceptionally sophisticated. While it is not connected to any large amount of network, it does monitor the police radio for alerts of crime nearby and alerts Yamato as to where it is located; however, he must find his own path there as the AI lacks any maps or awareness of its own surroundings. It can store and record information for him, so it can remind him at a later date while also informing him of temperatures outside the suit, as well as activate all functions of his suit at a single command. It has a slight personality to it, but mostly acts as a skilled secretary; only speaking when spoken to unless incredibly important unless something critical comes along. This AI is called Tsubaki. Another feature of the armor is the armor plates itself. These plates are forged from steel with some of his own DNA synthesized with it. This allows it to be exceptionally cold-resistant, while also allowing him to activate his quirk off of the armor itself. The fabric that holds all the plates together is also meshed with his DNA but is designed to be as warm and porous as possible to soak as much sweat as it can. This allows him to store up to 10 uses of his quirk in the armor itself but removes his ability to store uses on his own skin. Due to how condensed the sweat in the armor can get it allows him to produce more mist than before, unlocking his ability to double his quirk's usage output. While all of his armor is designed to be used alongside his quirk, it does not lack in the defense department as the armor protects him from small arms fire, as well as cuts from most bladed weapons. It offers only minimal protection from bludgeoning, as such damage often is blunt force trauma rather than slicing through skin. The final part of his armor, is the sword that comes with it. This sword has a handle that when squeezed, absorbs any and all sweat stored in the fabric on both of his hands, allowing him to store two uses of his quirk in the sword itself. These uses can be used to fire off his super move 'Winter's Bite,' doubling it's range and effectiveness as the sweat pools inside a hidden compartment of the blade, allowing him to propel it in a wider arc while also speeding up it's travel by a large amount. talent's name • Blade Master talent's rank • IV talent's tier • II talent description • Blade Master shows just how much Yamato has mastered the sword. He is considered one of the most talented swordsmen in Japan in the modern-day and age, but even he has far to go before he truly becomes the best. This is his primary fighting style, and focuses on using a large two-handed katana at a distance, while using one-handed punches, kicks, and shoves in close quarters. talent's name • Muscle Training talent's rank • IV talent's tier • II talent description • Muscle Training shows just how much work Yamato has put into building up his own strength and control. With his current rank of muscle training, he is able to lift over 150 lbs above his head without any assistance. It also allows him to perform other feats of strength, like lifting up a large bus just enough to free someone that was trapped underneath or carrying one person on each shoulder. While most people attribute muscle strength to raw lifting power, he has also trained his muscles to absorb impact far more than a normal 'musclehead' would. This allows him to shrug off impacts quite easily, requiring excessive power to stun. talent's name • Athletic Training talent's rank • IV talent's tier • II talent description • Athletic Training shows Yamato's overall ability of dexterity and speed, as well as stamina. Currently, Yamato is able to run for hours on end without tiring while also being able to sprint at upwards of 22 mph. talent's name • Deflection talent's rank • III talent's tier • I talent description • Deflection is the ability to defend ones-self against ranged projectiles through the use of rapid changes in the projectile path without stopping them entirely. Since he has practiced this specific technique, it has become a skill for him and at his current level he is able to deflect multiple projectiles heading at him at once or reflect a single projectile as if it was his own but only if he had time to prepare. talent's name • Presence talent's rank • II talent's tier • I talent description • Presence is what most would call a dominating aura. It has little to no effect other than to make the man more noticeable. While performing heroics this ability could increase the amount of people that turn their heads to watch, to even making lesser villains too scared to act upon sight. Other applications for this ability could be intimidation or persuasion. There is a downside to this talent, however, as having such high presence makes it that much harder to sneak around. talent's name • Death Ward talent's rank • I talent's tier • I talent description • Death Ward gives Yamato the ability to survive a lethal blow without dying outright. This means that if he begins to die, then the normal amount of time he would have before death is extended by 1 full post. This can be either to get treatment, as to prevent final character death, or to use other means to spare himself the inevitable fate. talent's name • Bachelor Chef talent's rank • I talent's tier • I talent description • This ability is absolutely useless in combat scenarios but is excessively handy for overall survival. Yamato has never had a lover, or really had someone to cook for him so he has gained the ability to take literally anything he can find in his refrigerator or pantry, throw it together, and make something that looks horrendous but is actually relatively tasty; so long as the ingredients are edible that is. talent's name • Stability talent's rank • I talent's tier • I talent description • Stability allows Yamato to keep his balance in rather precarious situations. This means it is more difficult to trip him during combat, and his ice does not hamper his mobility nearly as much as it would someone not trained in keeping their balance. the role player |
