She's intimidating for numerous reasons she's fierce, she confident, and most of all, she has presense. No matter where she goes she catches everybody's eyes and minds, her voice and words are as smooth as silk, her looks are as striking as her quirk, and she's powerful, a winning combo by most people's standards. But behind her pretty social persona, is that of a savage beast, behind closed doors, Mariya is an abrasive, cruel, and judgemental woman, she hates weak people especially those with weak and gross quirks, so she graces those people with her presence, her goddess-like presence, in her own words. She graduated from U.A. as one of the Top 3 of her year she made a name for herself in every Sport's festival she was in, she was famous before even graduating from U.A. with many fans excited for her pro-hero debut. Which was saving a building full of civilians, which is where she met her future husband, Kuro Hatsune, an accountant, but at the time she didn't care about being on top, she was a genuinely good person. But that would change after she Married Kuro and had a child with him, they named their child Kato, and it was in that moment of meeting Kato that she would make them a number one hero no, matter what. When Kato's quirk fully manifested at the age of 4, Mariya started training Kato, and what could only be called abuse, even her husband called it as such, but she would shush him and once even hit him for speaking up against her, to her she saw it as jeopardizing their child's future, but Kuro saw it as it was, a power grab and using their child as a stepping stone. Mariya trained Kato for a decade, lying about a medical condition to him so they'd be willing to train more, molded them into an angry shell of their former self so that she can better control them and even tortured them in various ways to make them "Ready" for villains. Her husband started to drift away and focus more and more on work, but she didn't mind she kept all her focus on hero work and her child's training. Nothing else mattered.
