Shuto Himawari the basics full name • Shuto Himawari, changed from Shuto Sunappu after marriage. faction name • Snapshot nicknames • Snapshot, Shuto faction • Hero class • 1-A rank • Teacher Hero IV age • Thirty-Seven bloodtype • AB-negative birthday • April 21st gender • Male - He/Him sexuality • Homosexual affiliation • U.A. hero rival/nemesis • who is your hero rival/nemesis vigilante rival/nemesis • who is your vigilante rival/nemesis villain rival/nemesis • who is your villain rival/nemesis civilian rival/nemesis • who is your civilian rival/nemesis the appearance face claim • name here • Kotetsu T. Kaburagi, Tiger & Bunny height and weight • 5'9'' & 168 lbs | 172.72 cm & 78 kg identifying features • Two studded gauges, burn scars and surgery scars on the back. overall appearance • Disarmingly, Shuto looks to hold the ultimate dad bod. Due to his back being hurt, he has lost a lot of his muscle; he still keeps up in the gym most often than not, but his six pack has turned into a bit of a dad gut. He is a little taller than average, but he's not winning any contests. His body is covered in scars, mostly from burn scars or actual surgical scars, as he's had back surgery twice to recover it to some degree. He styles his hair often to fit hats onto his head, with a bit of unkemptness to it on the sides. He's been growing a bit of facial hair, but definitely upkeeps it, as he dislikes having a lot of it. Finally, he dresses rather well, often with a button-up and a tie, sometimes a vest, or an sports jacket if he feels like it. He's a very classy individual, with the only thing left to note being his cane. A golden ball on the top of his black cane, he can swing it around like a support item. It hurts when he bonks people on the head with it. the personality likes • "Hm? You wish to know that? Well... I've loved being a hero for the longest time. I'm not in it for the fame, I'm in it to protect the weak, like it should be. I enjoy walks on the beach, a fair bit of carpentry, and cooking for my wife/husband whenever I can. What do you mean this is why people like me?" dislikes • "Well, if it wasn't obvious, I hate pointless violence. I find villains with depressing motivation to be a little more understandable than pure chaos gremlins. I dislike those who cannot follow directions as told. I hate having to take an authoritative position to sustain my economical life crisis of pro hero retirement. And I think, if I had to pick one last thing, I dislike people who hit on married people. I find it to have no class." strengths • "Strengths? Sheesh, this an interview? Should have paid for it... I'd say my strengths are pretty simple. I do a lot of different hobbies; never a master of any, but definitely gotten my hands dirty in a lot of things; carpentry, cooking, painting, photography, sketching, piano, and even a little bit of a tabletop game fan on the side. Apparently, I'm a fantastic DM, fancy that. Aside from that, my only other thing I would say is that I have gotten some level of fashion down; but I think that's because of my wife. Heheh!" weaknesses • "This really necessary? I don't... do well with physical activities anymore. Ever since I broke my back again, I have to shy away from taxing physical exercise; like parkour, or weight-lifting. You know how much it sucks to have to look into the mirror to see you're losing the body that kids once looked up to? That's crushing, man. I think aside from that, people tell me I'm too nice. I give villains a chance to fight me in my hayday; to get up from a powerful snap. I mean, why kick them when they're down? People just take advantage of that." dreams • "My dream has already come true. I got to marry Genki. Now all I want is to provide for him a place to live with me in. Maybe a house on a hill, with a white fence or something. I don't know." fears • "I got a few of them. Losing Genki is the worst by far. Losing my ability to stay relevant in modern heroism is another. Being unable to help people is another entirely. And I've been having PTSD when thinking about fighting on the field again. My hands begin to shake." overall personality • Overall, Shuto is a kind-hearted soul; a multi-talented, multi-faceted man and always a kind smile on his face; only ever breaking in a couple of instances. He's the kind of guy who you can trust with anything, and takes everything in stride. His motto often stems from a 'go-with-the-flow' kind of vibe. But don't take his lax mannerisms sitting down! He has a tendency to let loose in a tense situation, and when the cards are down, he shows a hidden well of anger. But the problem is that it takes a lot to get him there. He knows how to raise his voice, and despite being 1-A's teacher, he doesn't want to do that to these kids. He likes to treat his kids with respect, and as such, he often will try to give them dad advice to succeed in life. Often times, that is what he likes to think he has; the everyman approach who has seen much in life, and wishes to spread that experience through advice. However, to his wonderful wife/husband Genki Himawari, he often treats him like royalty, and puts him above everything. He would cancel class just for Genki if he knew he was in trouble, and would likely do more if someone dared to badmouth him. Anyone can call him a slacker of a teacher, but to call Genki anything more than that would show them out the window with a snap. And no. That wasn't trying to be cute, that is to be taken literally. the history father • Bill Snappu, 69, Retired Pro mother • Akane Snappu, DECEASED, Former Pro (KIA) siblings • Two younger brothers (Raimei Snappu - 34 - Pro Hero (Soundwave), Shogeki Snappu - 32 - Vigilante (Snapple Pop)) important people • Himawari Genki - Wife/Husband hometown • Osaka, Japan overall history • Shuto Snappu; eldest sibling to the Snappu family, and the one with the most weight on his shoulders. He was the brother who often stopped his younger two brothers from fighting; and while his Japanese-American father and Japanese mother were together, they were the perfect little family. Overall, their childhood went rather well. Shuto was accepted into U.A. rather easily, in fact he was recommended for his grades in middle school and his showing of ability, and as such was able to become one of the top three in U.A by his third year. Needless to say, his brothers had a lot to live up to. Raimei was able to, but Shogeki was a dropout by the time that Shuto was gaining fame. It was a little problematic and sad to hear, but what can one do? Shuto was gaining traction as Snapshot, and for the first twelve years, things were really nice! It was when Shuto had become thirty years old that the burning building incident came up. Imagine this being something normal; leanring how to rescue plenty of people from burning skyscrapers. This was just an apartment that he got to late. But he, along with many others, saved hundreds of lives. But as the flames grew higher, there was someone still in the building. The flames were too high to really go get them, realistically. Many other heroes cut their losses. But Shuto will never believe this to be a mistake in his career. He raced into the flames, pushing aside the fire and the flames both, breaking the doors open and searching for the last person; an orange-haired boy who one day he would propose to, only to first meet him here?! What a love story that would be... as he raced up the stairs to the third floor, and eventually blew the door down, he would find Genki Himawari, and as he snapped the way open for the orange-haired male, the ceiling of the third floor collapsed atop of him. Everything went black. But part of him believed that Genki somehow got him out of there. Regardless, he couldn't walk for a month. He received a ton of fan letters; over a hundred-fifty, in fact. So, the physical therapy was rough; but he managed to get back on track, and boom. He became a hero again. Only this time, it had become a bit of gossip; who had Snapshot been seeing romantically? It had been revealed that the hero, Snapshot, had been seeing someone; and the love story came out shortly; the same one he saved in the burning building! Why, many were excessively supportive over his choices, and Slapshot had become an icon! Huzzah! The next eight years were a whirlwind of events; romance, a wedding, a studio apartment for the two of them, and opening his own agency! Slapshot was a household name. Until Zerk. There was a mission in America to find a villain. Perhaps it was a bit of arrogance in Shuto, but he was sure he could handle it. Just a single villain. It's odd how it works; often it's the things that one does not expect that takes them down. A simple burning building, a singular villain arrest. Why, shouldn't it have been easy to take him down? But instead... Shuto was on the receiving end of a curbstomp; and his back snapped again. This time, much worse than any burning building could do to him. Something about the snap was so satisfying; the worst snap of his life that would eventually have him flown back to Japan. ... The fan-letters came again. Only this time, the doctor told him that he couldn't keep it going. And with a bit of reluctance... Shuto accepted his fate. To retire from pro heroism, and instead, teach the next generation. He intended to give Genki the life he deserved. Or it'd be the death of him. the Quirk quirk's name • Snap quirk's rank • VIII quirk's tier • II quirk's type • Emitter quirk description • Snap is a very interesting Emitter-based Quirk. Many might think of it as a Mutation-based due to the finger-pads that Shuto has on his fingers; that is merely a defensive measure that the Quirk has already mutated into from extended use. The true basis behind Snap is very simple; the friction of a snap makes a noise. For Shuto, snapping is essentially all his Quirk requires. Quite literally, shooting by snapping. It's very simple. A blast of wind comes from his fingers snapping together; the more friction the snap has, the more powerful it becomes; think of it like a railgun. Shuto has refined this technique to allow a number of things; exuding excellent power control, as well as finger strength. quirk limitation • Snap CAN tear down walls with a powerful enough snap, able to blast a hole through a stone wall if necessary. Steel is a little too durable for his sake, but he can get to it with a few of his strongest snaps. An navy-grade railgun would be capable of stronger strikes, but Shuto can get around this with the sheer speed behind his snapping capability. Easily, the stronger the snaps, the longer it takes to execute; but shorter snaps can still punch with relative force. However. Shuto does get tired; it should be known that he likes to end things quickly, as he can't just snap forever. If used excessively, Shuto will lose his snap capabilities in under five posts. However, if spaced out properly, he can continue for a lot longer. The stronger snaps do take a lot out of his fingers, and he has broken one before out of overuse. For optimal safety, Shuto needs to space out his snaps by one post a piece. The formula for such should be something like: Snap Post, Wait Post, Snap Post, Waist Post, ETC. quirk weakness • Where this Quirk fails short is its pure destructive power and cool-down. He cannot fire his strongest snaps often; in fact, his strongest snaps are often the hardest to pull off by the sheer force of friction between his fingers. If he fires his strongest blast, that is to say, he charges his snap for a single post, he cannot do it again for at least three posts in-between. However, while the strongest snaps can definitely knock down a good portion of a stone wall, it doesn't mean he's defenseless. One weak snap alone is around five punches and kicks to an enemy by bare minimum, of which he can fire in rapid succession. The destructive power, unfortunately, does not discriminate between friend and foe. This makes him ideal in a fight, but not so ideal in a hostage situation or rescue. He will still act in both, but use his Quirk sparingly. If he accidentally were to kill someone with a snap, well... that wouldn't be so good, would it? Perhaps the last of his Quirk's weaknesses lies in the body part it uses; his fingers. If they are broken, he cannot possibly hope to snap; not even by sheer willpower. This makes it awkward; and admittedly, even if he could do it by sheer willpower, he doesn't wish to break his fingers. the Talents talent's name • Expert Pianist talent's rank • VI talent's tier • I talent description • Shuto is an expert pianist; having learned how to play in his youth due to his family having a granddaddy piano.
