Mentorships and Advanced Starts

Obviously,  a major theme in My Hero is that the next generation is rising to take the place of the heroes leading now. This doesn't stop with just All Might and Deku. Heroes step up all the time in the lives of their students and Villains corrupt younger people all the time. Some Heroes lead many students while some prefer to focus their efforts. 

A character can take another under their wing to form a Mentorship. Mentors gain 10% more RP than non-mentors from completing Adventure threads with their Pupils! The goal here being the incentive of being a mentor. Pupils get a 10% discount on advancing a character tier, talent tier in a talent your mentor also has. Quirk training with your mentor can net you an additional 200 RP per thread but upon reaching Tier III are no longer able to be mentored. However, upon reaching Tier III can mentor others themselves!

A mentor is not limited in number of students that he takes on, but must maintain an active training relationship with his students. A student can have up to two mentors per faction, as it's not totally unheard of for someone to seek guidance under the arms of a higher authority in another group if they feel the pressure enough. Now, I know what you're thinking, "But how can this matter in an early system or like the sites early launch?" Well, the answer is simple. 

Advanced Start is a process to encourage players to step up into these roles. Players that do Advanced Starts are expected to be active, consistent members of the community. As well, they're expected to be creating plots in the form of taking up the lead of a faction OR to mentor younger students!

Do you want to do an advanced start? That's totally cool! There's an Advanced Start subforum! Create a thread there that must be a solo. Details including your history as a member, your activity on the board, and most importantly your what your goals are for the character will be taken into consideration. The character you use for your thread must also be the one you're applying for.

Starting out, Tier III's have 40,000 RP to spend on skills and Tier IV's have 115,000 RP. This can ONLY be used on your quirk and talents and anything not spent in character creation is not carried over.
